  1. They used to say the same thing about Bud Abbott
  2. Plus he broke up a double play, causing two runs to score and made a great catch in left.
  3. Like I said Nava can do anything
  4. Satchel Paige once said to someone who said curves don't curves, stand behind something and prove to you that they do.
  5. For those who don't get the pleasure of listening to Jim Palmer he just told the audience that the reason they call the pitch a "slider" is because it slides. Gee Jim I wonder why they call the curve a curve.
  6. Right now I think Nava can do anything. If he can pitch he takes McDonald's place as the extreme backend reliever.
  7. Nava does more than hit. He is Pedroia like but without his talent. He is an over achiever.
  8. Gary Thorne tries to moderate Palmer's pomposity. Palmer does know his stuff but he lets you know it and talks down to the viewer.
  9. That's the logical response. The emotional response is Nava plays and Crawford sits
  10. Blackout rules because I live in Maryland. The MLB package gives both feeds except for balckout rules
  11. Palmer may be insufferable but he is right about that. Buchholtz does it because his nerves get the better of him and he loses focus
  12. The O's annoucers are ripping Buchholtz for the throws to 1st
  13. Although the box score will only show him with 2 rbi, his slide into 2nd resulted in 2 other runs scoring. Since he has been called up he has been the straw that has stirred the drink.
  14. How the hell can you keep Nava out of this lineup!
  15. You are taking my post out of context. Here is what I posted: "His performance against Det & Bal were actually worse than his perfrormance against Cle and Philly. So in a matter of speaking Bard has been going backwards over the past 5 starts. " Against Det, Bard didn't get out of the 5th. He was behind on virtually every batter and hit a batter. One could argue that his best performances were in April agianst the White Sox and his first start against the Rays and he has gone steadily downhill since.
  16. Take a look at the stats. He only went 5 innings if I recall
  17. Bard was a menace on the mound today. He not only endangered the opposing batters but his own team as well. In fifty plus years of watching this team play I've never seen anything like it. And this came after Bard complained that BV took him out too soon in his last start. If it were up to me the next time Bard pitched it would be at McCoy Stadium.
  18. Yes they should DL him citing a mental injury.
  19. Send him down to Pawtucket to relearn how to be a reliever.
