  1. Cherington is constitutionally incapable of a bold move or an original thought. He is a guy you can see coming a mile away. That's why in any trade negotiation he'll always come out second best.
  2. Spot on analysis. Beckett's fast ball and changeup have only about a 4 mph difference. He has to rely more on the curveball. His over reliance on the cutter IMO accelerated the decline in his FB velocity. At best Beckett has become a middle of the road starter and that is when he is pitching as well as he can.
  3. McClure wasn't in Boston last year. Crawford wasn't in spring training this year if you recall. Plus Crawford did try to bunt the other day and it didn't work out.
  4. Yea that's the ticket ! Bring back Theo, Wake and Tek while you are at Not to mention getting rid of Jenny Dell, she's the real problem. This team played much better when Hiedi was on the sidelines.
  5. One can trade anyone. It's all about what one is willing to accept (or give up in return)
  6. I agree with everything you post above. I assume you include the entire baseball ops crowd in the FO shakeup who IMO must go as well. I also think that if they decide to keep BV (I wouldn't object either way) they must find a decent pitching coach who is the manager's choice. Whomever they decide is their manager, whether it be BV or someone else, he should decide who is coaches will be. The current setup is crazy.
  7. He not only doesn't call a good game, he doesn't catch a good game. Shoppach is a better defensive catcher and Lavarnway can't be any worse than Salty IMO. I beleive Lavarnway has an over 30% CS to Salty's 16
  8. That was not BV decision. It came from the medical staff according to reports.
  9. Lester isn't just pitching poorly he is pitching about as bad as one can pitch. For what its worth, I don't Bob McClure is a positive facor either.
  10. One or both won't be playing for Boston this time next year.
  11. the operative word is former all stars
  12. The main problem with this team is the same problem that this team had last September. It begins with Beckett. This team won't improve so long as he is with this club. It isn't only Beckett but he is the "Thyphoid Mary" of this team IMO
  13. You are correct. The reason IMO is because the Red Sox don't adjust. Plus this team seems more impatient than prior teams.
  14. Some of the best pitchers down through the years were junk ball pitchers. I is about pitching not throwing.
  15. What is also amazing is how Beckett's pitches just well enough to eat innings and lose. I get the feeling he is laughing at us and his teammates with his smugness.
  16. Beckett's throw to first was his best fastball tonight
  17. I agree. He doesn't look like his heart is in the game.
