  1. Axlerod looks accommodating so far. Thank God Ortiz did not try to go on that ball that got away from the catcher.
  2. It was a 1-2 change up way out of the strike zone.
  3. For me anyway the new NESN scoreboard location is a little distracting....more in my field of vision than I would like it to be.
  4. Thankful for the hit but that looked an awful lot like the 2011 version of Crawford at the plate.
  5. Sox playing their usual sloppy baseball.....I honestly just don't see where this team is going when it continues to play like this. WMB slipped but not sure where he was going anyway....and then AGons has to try his Tom Brady impression to make things worse. Thoughtless, careless baseball team.
  6. To far above the knees on that pitch to Youk
  7. Well if the rotation were 5 with Lester, Morales and Felix that would be three LH starters pitching in Fenway....not a great idea.
  8. For me I am actually more interested to see how Cook does in what has to be the biggest test for him since he began his stint in the rotation....although it almost does not matter who he faces. He either keeps the ball down or he does not. The only difference in opponents is how far the ball travels if he does not.
  9. Well here we go. Youk back as a WS could be a huge ouch.....hopefully Crawford will be as solid coming back as Ells has been so far. I have to admit I thought there was at least a 50-50 chance that Ells would not be as strong as he appears to be coming back....hopefully i will be just as wrong on Crawford.
  10. I am not even sure it matters to Sox Management one way or the other. Whether they land Dempster or not they will spin the same tale one way or the other. With ten teams vying for his services I would think the chances are pretty slim that the Sox will put together enough of a deal to land him....Come to think of it, we have been down this road before...Sox go after a guy in a crowded field....just about assures they won't get him but can say they tried.
  11. This sounds like just enough of a move to validate LL's comments about the Sox being aggressive buyers at the trade deadline. By the time the Sox PR machine is done with him, Dempster will be the second coming of Cy Young if they make this deal.
  12. I know this is late notice guys but here goes. The golf course where I play just called to tell me that I have won two seats to the Wednesday night game, the July 18th game against the White Sox. The seats are left field grandstand, section 27, row 6....actually pretty decent seats. Why they waited this long to actually pull the raffle I do not know. However my kid is at summer camp these two weeks. I really don't go often anymore....no time....to much money but would only go these days to take my son to a game. He just got to be old enough to know what the heck he would be looking at so I would love to take him this year. If any of you folks would like to arrange a trade I would take two seats to just about anything that got me out of these two weeks from the 15th through the 30th of July. I know its late. Any help would be great.
  13. That is all its about at this point. Maybe Ells play will convince the Sox to try to do something interesting at the trade deadline. I just don't think they will be able to make the kind of deal they need to make but hey.....if they just keep winning games what more can you ask for. We been asking for that all season though and they are.......one game over 500
  14. AGons may have just come back a little to early. I don't think his back went out again on him as that feels completely different from tightness. Probably means there is still some inflammation back there through. Wish they had a day off tomorrow.
  15. Maybe just saving AGons back potential aggravation.
  16. I just cannot believe the way this team plays baseball.
  17. Now here is a guy likely to make a mistake to Salty
  18. The wild card is probably Kalish for next year. If he comes around, then I doubt the Sox will have much use for Sweeney. The Sox have been betting on Kalish for a long time now so I doubt they are going to stop now.
  19. Seems like we have the kind of game that we can win....into that Rays bullpen aw well. Please don't grab defeat from the clutches of victory.
  20. A steady diet of Ross against good RH pitchers would be tough to take. Terrific platoon outfielder. You have to be a pretty weak RH pitcher to get hammered by Ross. I hope they find a way to at least keep Nava on the bench. Nava does things that many of the guys on this team are just unwilling to do.
  21. Throw a few more of those Shields....we like those.
  22. Really surprised that Shields came after Ells there. Ells just missed what was a mistake pitch no doubt. Can't believe Shields wanted it there.
  23. Shields wants no part of Ells on the inner half
  24. I don't think Salty stands much of a chance of seeing fastball either. Pitchers aren't going to let Salty beat them if they can help it.
  25. Go ahead Salty...two outs....rip one outta' here.
