    Well I thought the ball would find our new LFer. But I didn't think the ball would go clean over his head and into the Monster seats.

    Smooth....real smooth dickwad. Perfect place to get tossed. NESN crew making excuses. They know that there are certain words you do not use with an umpire. Seems clear that Reese used one.

    Wong the catcher takes it off the chest for the out but not the DP.

    The NESN booth squad making believe that the strike zone box is so accurate that it can tell the difference between a ball and a strike at the corner.

    So do I have this right? We are 12 games into the season and we are one injury away from calling out to the bullpen to get somebody to play a position in the field? Is that right? I suspect we will see some shuffling in the roster for tomorrow.

    The regular 3rd basemen spends too much time chewing on his glove out there and ain't that hot a fielder in the first place. I think he misses Xanger as much as anything. The regular SS is a terrific fielder but he can't stay on the field. The regular 2nd baseman is young. We really don't know what he is at the ML level. Without Story our star infielder is ......Casas. Who'd a thunk it.

    Oddly considering how the Sox field, it is a team of DH's with a DH that can't hit. Go figure.

    IMO, all of this back and forth about the capabilities of the 2024 Sox will fad to insignificance by the end of the year. It is not even a good baseball team by historical MLB standards. But it is better than much of the utter garbage masquerading as MLB teams these days. If I had to guess, the 2024 Sox will finish just the wrong side of post season play. Their fielding is abysmal, their hitting is inconsistent and their pitching staff simply has no chance of not ultimately being exposed. First it is a team of petulant children from its Manager down. That is in itself a severe deficit in a league that demands 162 games of regular season play from each franchise.

    This game does not change as much as people think it does over time. You boot the ball around in the field, you are going to pay for it.

    I would rather have a separated shoulder popped back in and under a shoulder pad than trying to swing the bat with it.

    Story has been Mr Glass for a long time now. Just too beat up to stay on the field. Honestly...the Story acquisition never made sense to me at least as it was described. Lots of cash for a guy who played in light air Colorado the Sox claimed would replace Xander who they did not want to pay?????? Seems like the Sox outthought themselves.

    Whitlock bleeding profusely from his pitching hand right now v the Rays. Gee, this push the pitching staff early campaign is working so well.

    I did not have any spring optimism. This organization does not rate optimism. So I am not sure where I go from here.

    He has a blinking red and ignored it. Happens lots in Massachusetts. JT has moved right in and has acclimated nicely.

    That's a low blow Splinter. Besides while he has sped up the game via his AB's Rafi has slowed the game by giving the opponent 4 outs an inning in the field.

    He is throwing cement mixer sliders which are about what a Batting Practice pitch looks like coming up to the plate. I suppose another catcher might suggest he throw something else. Not sure it matters to anybody. Houck might want to see if he can get his slider back more than he wants to stop getting tagged in a meaningless game like this.

    You are correct. My bad. I thought this was a 3 game series. Its only two games. Mercy from the scheduling gods.

    No it doesn't. I gave up on my 500 season prediction so long ago. Clearly I was brimming with optimism when I made that prediction.
