  1. Papi with the goodbye RBI
  2. I suspect Ortiz is Anserson's last batter
  3. Sox come back....glad they did it while Lester could still be involved in the decision.
  4. Oh my God....RBI's from Drew...production from Drew!!! I think that was a decent 0-0 pitch for WMB. not great but decent. He seems so conscience now of being set up for the low outside pitch that he is getting even more aggressive than usual early in the count. That is ultimately not the solution but for now, WMB may be right about that. He is so feeble once he gets to two strikes as long as the pitcher can hit that spot on the outer third or even off the plate for that matter.
  5. Naps strikes again
  6. I did not like those little mishaps in the middle of the infield leading up to the young at bat either. You just get the feeling that the stars are aligned and runs are coming the other way.
  7. Isn't that odd 305....you got the same feeling....just knew that was going to end bloody
  8. s***...could almost feel that one coming. Throw that many pitches are you are bound to leave something out over the plate and up
  9. Pedey left in a tough spot trying to turn that DP. Ball got right into his body.
  10. Lack of a straight change is probably what got him throwing so many cutters.
  11. OK so now I see what you guys are talkin' about. It is not blackouts at all but total MLB f*** ups sounds like. Does it ever clear up during a game or once this s*** starts your just sunk for that game?
  12. Jeez is Drew headed for .090's for an average?
  13. I like that we have one of our best if not our best pitcher going in a day game after last night's mess. It is tougher for hitters to deal with the sun's angle on changing through the course of the day and then the shadow moving across and between the plate and the mound. I would rather have one of best going and making it even tougher on hitters than have one of our worst. One of our worst might not be able benefit much from the sun changes.
  14. I just read the piece at Boston.com. When Aceves was asked about having not gotten over to cover first on the Napoli play, he responded with "that is just one play". So a pitcher does not cover 1st on a play to the right side and "that is just one play"??? Farrell made the same comment I made during the game itself. The "focus" did not appear to be there. When Ace gets even a little irritated his focus is just gone....enter botched plays, balks, walks and meatball pitches.
  15. No question that Webster alone would not land Stanton. As it is regardless of how much Stanton may complain (presuming he does complain) about his predicament, he is a cost controlled player. He becomes arb eligible next year but does not hit FA until 2017. Miami should be able to extract quite a haul from somebody getting Stanton in return.
  16. Bard and "perfect command" are not likely to be seen in the same sentence too often if at all.
  17. Won't know what they might be doing better than Bard until Bard is pitching to ML hitters again. Your mistakes at AA and even at AAA don't get hit as often or as hard as they do once you are throwing to big league hitters. The Sox are short arms at this point. Wright gave no indication that he was ready to pitch to ML hitters and he wasn't. He was just the guy that looked like he had the best shot at surviving up here at the time, that is after Wilson. Wilson has not been a complete FAIL as he was and is clearly more capable at this point than Wright. That both got here ahead of Bard is not particularly comforting. However the Sox still need arms as they very quickly ran out of them once the season started. That did not take much did it? The 5 going down in the rotation is all it took in our case. So Bard will get a shot...he will either fail or not. I expect he would have been better served moving from AA to AAA to see if he could survive there. But the Sox cannot afford to go that way right now.
  18. I would bet that unless he does something to support his continuing with the big club that Bard will go back down again for one. The only reason he is coming up now is because there are no other arms down there more trustworthy than his. That is a far cry from saying he is trustworthy. The fact that they brought Wright here first, should be a sign regarding the trustworthiness of Bard. Wright had not shown anybody anything that suggested he could pitch up here to this point. So the Wright "experiment" fails but we need somebody to pitch some innings. Well, lets dust off Bard's old uni. But unless Bard shows something Miller is at this point a better option and so is Wilson.
  19. Colon strikes out the side...shameless...at least have the common decency to pull a hammy or something. If he gets a complete game shutout from this I am going to puke all over some 8 x 11 and send it to Uncle Bud.
  20. I should take into account though that at least tonight, that knuckler must be pretty hard to grip.
  21. "Lets go Red Sox" at this point. Now "USA" Now "Boston Strong" I have yet to see an outing from Wright where his knuckler does much knuckling. Most of the time it is in the air, on the way to the outfield somewhere.
  22. I am so sick of seeing this fat f*** on the mound...Jeez we cannot do anything with him.
  23. Unless something untoward happens to Lackey this week I think chances a really pretty good that you would see him Sunday.
  24. Colon really pisses me off. I have rarely been disgusted but Colon is disgusting as is Arod. What a mess.
  25. Our hitters should be realizing that Colon is just going to throw strikes at this point. The game is so out of control.
