  1. I would not have sat Ells today. As I have stated yesterday and the day before and the day before that, I would have dropped him in the order.....dayyyyyyssss ago.
  2. Pedey pissed at himself there. Nothing he could have done with the 1st AB but that one was kinda' pukey.
  3. I wonder if Nava looks like he is 3'6" to Worley. Uncanny
  4. Not a ground out from Ells...I'm excited!
  5. Part of the secret to Buchs success is not only the variety of pitches and his command of them and his location but his arm angle never changes. No telling what is coming. Can make guys look totally stupid.
  6. !st base, LF and RF. Could have easily shuffled the line up to get him a couple at bats. Nava has not even seen much time while Ells has gone to hell and Naps has simply gone too long. Gomes gets just about all the time Farrell can throw at him and really has not done much with it.
  7. This is what bothers me about leaving guys cemented to the bench. Carp has not done more than get an occasional at bat since I don't know when...in the mean time...Ells could not hit with a boat oar and Naps has clearly tired and needs some rest and Gomes had not done much. What the hell is Carp supposed to do with an AB about once every two weeks or so.
  8. So far this year, Buch is the only starter we have that comes out dominant from the first pitch. I think he had one semi-shaky first inning and that has been about it.
  9. f***ing amazing...Ortiz got one decent pitch to hit and one really in his wheelhouse (Whorley you dunce) and David makes him pay....crazy ridiculous.
  10. Jeez Nava ...determined not to be walked or something
  11. What are ya' gonna do Nava get stupid on me. Should be down there at first base right now
  12. Ells with his usual start. Not sure about Ells though. Don't think he is having the same problem that Naps is having as Ells has not hit for what seems like a decade.
  13. Lets just hope that whatever WMB had last night, he brings it with him tonight. Tonight he has to bat behind Ortiz. Hopefully he poses enough of a threat that Ortiz actually gets something to hit. Pitchers have been pitching around Ortiz to get to Naps for a couple of weeks now. Seeing several replays of the WMB hit off of Rodney last night, I am convinced now that not only did Rodney get that up in the zone too much but that WMB was sitting on the change. It is easy sitting on my couch at home to say, I know the change is coming. But if you sit change and get FB, it is pretty embarrassing. WMB may not have even gotten the bat off his shoulder in time to be out if Rodney came with the FB again. But I often contend that the change can be the most dangerous pitch in baseball cause if you are up at all with the change and especially if the guy is sitting on it, it becomes a very very easy pitch to hit. Gotta' really credit WMB for having the guts to sit change and then execute when Rodney got it up in the zone. Really rare to be sitting on a secondary pitch but Will hit that too pure to be otherwise. Man has he learned to turn his hips in the swing.
  14. I guess Farrell can make the excuse tonight that he already has made a bunch of changes around Vic's back and Naps needing a blow. But what does Ells do that you want from the guy leading off? Oh pretty close to nothing. He does not get on and he does not do anything positive if the bottom of the order generates a little offense and gets on ahead of him. Sorry, even with the other changes I would have dropped him in the order tonight. So there ya' go Ells. Now I have gone and done it. Go out there tonight and make me eat my words. Seriously though, if Farrell is not going to drop Ells after the stinkers he has put up lately...when? Is it going to be..... never? I have posted here that I suspect this is one of those things that Farrell is going to be overly stubborn about and I fear that is what we are facing.
  15. I don't know if the lineup for tonight has been posted up somewhere but I have little doubt that Naps is swinging a tired bat. At least it has looked so much like it lately to me that I have been willing to post it up in these pages. I sort of did not let that thought leak in initially cause I figured....well he is not catching. However he is still being asked to play a heck of lot more than he has in recent years. I suspect, based on what we are seeing that Naps is going to need regular breaks in the schedule. Unfortunate that it has to come when Vic is nursing his back. However you could just see from the strain he was under making those two playa in the outfield plus the slide for the ball he did not get to in foul ground that last night's game was just eating him up out there. Funny how the game just sort of finds a guy and forces him to make plays that expose his injury. That's baseball. I so want Ells off the top of this lineup. It is killing me.
  16. Swings at too many bad pitches. Not sure his walks will pick up more than his K's reduce or when pitchers start to fear him. K's will reduce when he stops swinging at so many bad pitches. Since virtually all of those pitches are low and away all of that will reduce when he cuts down his strike zone (instead of trying to expand his strike zone). To reach his full potential WMB needs to forget the outer third exists except for purposes of protecting the plate. If the Sox try to pursue a path toward making WMB a ML spray hitter they are dumber than a bag full of doorknobs.
  17. I do think Naps is battling a bout of tired bat though. I think that is probably the area of concern for Naps besides his hips. He sure looks like he is swinging a tired bat. So I would bet that Farrell is going to have to find a way to get him a day maybe every 7-8 games or something cause he is swinging through pitches more often now. Seems to me that he always swings through some number of pitches. But I think it gets worse when he is swinging a tired bat. Heck if true I would rather that than Naps being in a genuine slump. At least Farrell should be able to figure out how often he has got to get Naps a day as DH or full rest.
  18. You know what I mean...I know you do. Foul it off with two strikes..gotta swing to protect the plate with two strikes.
  19. Well even when Will is going badly he makes you pay for leaving the ball up or on the inner half. That is why I want him to keep away from that s*** on the outer third or outer third going away. Foul that s*** off or take it but don't for God sake swing at it. I want Pedey going the opposite way and Vic and Nava and even Ortiz going the opposite way. I want Will crushing that stuff up or in. He just does too much damage with that stuff inside or up to worry about trying to make him into the kind of hitter that sprays the ball around.
  20. West is one of those umps that glares at players also...like he is in a stare down. I hate that s***. Joe West...superstar....my ass!
  21. Wow that was a hell of goal to win the Bruins game Rodney stuck that pitch right were WMB could hurt him
  22. YEAAAA.....f*** you Rays...f*** you Maddon....f*** you dungeon ball park. Thank you WMB
  23. Ump has dinner reservations
  24. God Damn it...told ya' not to go breaking ball for a strike.
  25. OK so now you can show him the curve if you want BUT NOT FOR A STrike
