  1. Jeez Will...when he has funky fielding days, they are really funky. Weird.....still think his fielding this year is wayyyy improved. But the E's have come in bunches for him this year.
  2. Damn...thought that had a chance
  3. I think Farrell will have to drop Ells in the order at some point. Ortiz getting AB's in the 1st inning with runners on is just too big a part of their offense.
  4. That would kill me...especially if its every single time
  5. Is that Harrelson's K call? I never listen to him. So, I would not know.
  6. Oh my God Jon...please get the ball down
  7. I wonder if Vic's back isn't still a little tender. He was just trying to dump that ball into the outfield...something he has become very good at doing. That time it looked like he just could not get down there to get his bat on the same plain with the ball. Making those plays in the outfield the other night looked so painful for him.
  8. Salty does swing hard...all the time....He likes the ball there also
  9. Even old bling guys are going to hit the s*** Jon is tossing up there so far tonight.
  10. I think Jon's arm angle might be low so far for some reason. Everything is up and they are teeing off on him.
  11. I think there is a tendency to forget just how good Professional ML hitter can be and how terrific our pitching has really been. Pitches that are up even on the outer third are just so juicy to really good hitters. All it took was being up a little bit and BANG....three runs.
  12. Glad to see Nava getting more AB's. Maybe somebody will actually see more than three pitches in an AB.
  13. If even one guy gets on in the first inning, Ortiz comes to the plate with the pitcher having to pitch from the stretch early in the game and under the stress of knowing Ortiz is red hot. In part that is what is so annoying about Ells being an auto-out. How may times have we seen the formula that brings Ortiz to the plate in the first turn into runs in the first inning for us and the other guys having to come to the plate in the hole before they even pick up a bat.
  14. Oh you are so exciting Ells...thank you for starting us off per usual.
  15. Sounds like it is just another example of the dif between pitching in the AL and pitching in the NL
  16. I like Nava better than Gomes because I think Nava is a more complete ballplayer and because whatever he has done in the off season, his bat speed appears better to me than I have ever seen it and not marginally better either. However both while not being the guys we pay much attention to in the overall scheme of things seem to have a settling influence on the lineup when they are in. None of the primary bench players should be left cemented to the bench for as long as Farrell leaves them there. Hopefully they will see more time going forward. Gomes has gotten almost all the time that Farrell can throw at him. However, Nava needs time and Carp needs time. Ciriaco will always get enough time cause he is covering so many infield positions. We are wearing some guys out with the playing time they are getting while guys that seem to be able to contribute sit. Napoli will need more than 1 day off every month and a half. I think that has zero chance of working. Ells may be an entirely different story but there seems little sense in carting him out to CF each and every game for stretches as long as this and batting him lead off makes no sense at all at this point. Pedey wants to play every game and he may just be able to play every game. Not sure I would want to test that though. I would like to see him get a little bit of a break at the end of really strenuous stretches. Funny how we have made all these changes and it still seems to me to be exactly the same situation as we had last year. There are three guys that must be in the lineup. If two of those three are out at any point at the same time,,,,we are sorta' screwed. They are Pedey, Ortiz and WMB. It was that way last year and it is that way this year.
  17. If they remain disciplined they have a good shot at winning games because in reality the pitching has been fantastic...not good....fantastic. Expecting everyday shut-outs or ERA's below 2.00 for an entire season is unrealistic. This is what fantastic pitching across your staff looks like in this day and age. Felix is the one guy at this point doing poorly enough to upset the apple cart. I would love to find a way to push him off the end of the dock. Some may be disappointed in Dempster but we should not have expected more from Dempster than he is giving us. They are getting very close to being back to the offensive approach they had at the start of the season....thankfully. I have no problem with WMB swinging at pitching up on the outer half. That pitch was going to fool nobody. It started up and flat and stayed up and flat.....hardly a power hitter alive would have let that pitch go by and that pitch was not even close to being in the neighborhood of the pitches that he struggles to hit. As it was that gail pushed it out to right center. In reality, the Sox hit two long fly balls, one that was wind aided and Pedey's that was hit after the storm when the wind had died and that Willingham dumped over the wall in left. Ya' gotta' get some breaks over 162 games. How many breaks did the O's get across those 29, 1 run games last year? Anyway, I think they should find a way to do something about Felix. If they can upgrade Felix, they are a very solid team as the other staff question marks all seem to have been answered in the affirmative at this point. Then it is a matter of the everyday players staying disciplined and not thinking they are something the are not and lighting candles for David's heels.
  18. Looked like a big white cloud just floating past
  19. Taz is probably border line now for tomorrow
  20. Cheap hit...what the hell has happened to Ciriaco. Talk about blowing hot and cold....not sure you could blow hotter and then colder than Ciriaco does as a fielder.
  21. Seems like Remy is in semi-protest on the continuation of this game. Have not heard much more than a peep from him since they came back on the air.
  22. Hey, that will look just as good as a parking lot blast in the line score. Willingham must feel kinda' bad though. Pitcher has nothing to complain about. That was an awful pitch to Pedey.
  23. I agree with the poster who commented on the Twins caps. Those things are awful. The white panel is the real killer. Not a fan of the off color bill either but the while panel is terrible.
  24. That last pitch was the key to Ueh's success in all seriousness. I have seen heat with no movement before. I have sean heat with movement before. Not sure how many FB's I have seen that are movement but no heat!
