  1. I could see Farrell feeling like he had to take Dempster out when he did. 127 last time out and already up to 85 and struggling. Many of Farrells moves strike me as odd, especially as it relates to the everyday ballplayers and ESPECIALLY 3rd base coaches! The staff has probably been his strong suit.
  2. And he sent Ells with no real shot at getting home. Bourne already had the ball before Ells got to 3rd. I don't care if it was Road Runner running and While E Coyote throwing from CF, unless the throw goes into the first row behind him...its an out.
  3. Walks with the usual deadly result
  4. Jinxed him Thunder...its all your fault...you owe us a three run HR.
  5. Dempster has pitched very tough though. Has not given in when things have not gone his way. I am impressed with that.
  6. Right now it is going right down the heart of the plate.
  7. Sounds like all of these games with the Guardians will be nip and tuck with the weather. Seems like MLB sorta' missed the possibility that having some teams visit for only one series in a season would make it tough to make up rained out games.....Whoops....I would have liked to have seen all the teams in a league play each other at least a little bit more with fewer games within the division.
  8. Vic did not survive Koji's run through the dugout. On the way to the DL for sure now.
  9. I think it is going to be a very long year for the WS and their fans. They are not even fun to watch, never mind whether they are good or not.
  10. Comfortable....have not had many games we can categorize as comfortable lately. More like High Anxiety baseball style.
  11. Clearly the WS do not know how to steal bases. Can you believe Santiago went 6 innings on three days rest only giving up 2 runs? Holy s***. Hate to see what would have happened if the WS did not need a spot starter.
  12. Come on NESN...talk about bush league..holy crap!
  13. What the hell did NESN just do? Did they break away right in the middle of bottom of the inning?
  14. I get the feeling that a good many of our forum members have this feeling of impending doom on the horizon. I can't say that I blame them. It has been a very exciting and very very interesting season so far. However it has at the same time been a nervous as hell time. I just don't think we as Sox fans are used to winning games almost solely on the strength of our pitching for one thing. Team has got us on pins and needles inning after inning, game after game as we wait for the offense to do something. In the mean time we are left hoping our pitching remains staunch.
  15. Somebody posted recently that Farrell seems to have done a great job with the pitching....no small accomplishment. However, the way he handles the roster he has seems to take some getting used to. I have to admit I really struggle with it. I don't know how much input he has to the guys that are on the roster and on the DL. I would like to see more use of the DL in the sense that the Sox can make it retroactive. If they have already wasted a few days away, they can at least get a body up here to play during what would remain of a DL stint. They don't seem to do that much either. Have they even done it once this year? I don't think so.
  16. I suspect there are two ways...maybe more....just plain add a quote or reply with quote are the two I can see. I use the "just quote" mostly. Just a habit I guess.
  17. Left side of our infield has had some odd games lately. WMB goes along great for a bunch of games and then throws in a multi-error clunker. Drew is having an off day in the field today...just can't seem to do anything right tonight.
  18. WMB barely held off swinging at that pitch about a foot outside. He just has no vision for pitches headed low an outside.
  19. Most of the Sox swinging at s*** pitches to earn K's. Naps contribution seems to be more getting beaten by the FB. Salty is ....well..... Salty.
  20. Has to be low and outside, heading lower and more outside to look good enough to swing at.
  21. Could be an interesting night for the WS pen. Santiago should not last too long like this.
  22. Looked like the mound kicked that up in the air and took a good deal of steam off of it. Not sure it would have gotten through anyway after that mound kick. No telling where it would have gone.
