The only problem I have with Berry for Ortiz is that when Naps goes opposite field it is pure luck. He is not a bat control wiz. He had to be able to move Berry over at all costs...He rolled over that...which means we was not even trying to get the ball to the right side.....either make the plan match the players or make the players match the plan..but do one or the other please.
Great and now Ortiz is out of the game...we just don't want to win this one...in fact if you think about it...neither team wants to win this one....we just keep handing it back and forth
Got away with it......but if Buch was going to do that with this part of the order....why go after Longoria? He has made Myers look like the kid he is all game long.
Farrell should have been leery of using Buch here just based on the long sit in the dugout after a 30 pitch inning. Should have been willing to pull Buch if he got into any trouble given the circumstances. I think we have seen Farrell enough this year to know that if he has three runs, he feels like he can play with those three runs or two runs or even one run. I would be OK with it if I saw some benefit I was going to get in the game by staying with the starting pitcher. But Buch is really close to the end of his rope. So where is the benefit with a rested pen and a chance to put your foot on the Rays throat and end the series? It is not like this is the Buch from earlier this year.
I just can't believe he went after Longoria there. Can't believe somebody did not come out and talk to Buch and remind him.
Well, Cobb should be toast...Sox should be able to get to the Rays pen. I really don't understand playing this inning this way though. Up three....time to start counting outs.
This is sort of the way Farrell has done it all year though. If he has runs, he will play with them. Now he does not even have runs....Buch is clearly not going to go much farther and Farrell is still dicking around.
I know,,,,you would think we were playing the Skanks the way the announcers are treating the Rays. What, worst to first in one year is not a good enough story for you dickheads?
That was a terrific pitch by Buch. Reminds me of Lackey's pitch in a very very similar situation in his game. Buch has more in the tank at this point than Lackey had but Buch does not have anything like his best stuff and is just battling, just like Lackey was the other night.
Buch just does not have a swing and miss strike he can go to tonight and you just can't hope you are going to get everybody to chase. They are not all Myers.
Did you hear that lame ass charge cheer.....Trumpet trumpet trumpet....blah. What a bunch of f***in' losers.
As for this dump....it is an iron clad contract that the Rays simply have no way out of and that nobody has any incentive to let them out of. If the Rays were ever to find a way out this place turns into a mausoleum immediately. So the contract is iron clad and there isn't even a way to buy your way out. Totally f***ed up situation.
