It gets worse. They can go a good ten minutes without touching the actual baseball game going on right in front of them. Seen some bad announce teams in my life but ESPN puts three people together and no matter who they are they immediately become impossible.
I am not really questioning the guy cause he is a very professional hitter but man JD's swing is long long.
And I still say that even though he was not away from the breaking ball league that long...he is still looking for FB's he got in the NL that he is not getting in the AL.
I actually think we cut JBJ a fair amount of slack when you consider how stubborn he can be about recognizing he is heading for a deep deep hole at the plate and not doing anything about it. He even rubs our noses in it! "Not changin... commin' around".
Vaz is really helping him because we can't make the argument of being unable to support two black holes in the lineup.
So for those interested Alex Cora just told us why he missed getting JD out of the OF for a defensive replacement for the 9th inning in the Rays game.
"we were so happy with runs we scored that I just missed it".
Boston media aghast.....the truth....something that actually makes some sense as opposed to some long drawn out Farrelistic answer? Would prefer that he handn't missed it. But that was great answer.
I don't know who deals with the positioning of fielders for the Rays and honestly with all the changes I don't know who does it for us anymore. Neither guy had a great day today.
Well there is trying to not let something fall in front of you late in games. But if that kid can't get back to the wall to pick one before it hits the ground...nobody can. Whoever put him so far from that wall really messed up.
Amazing what vaz has turned himself into with literally no physical hitting talent whatsoever. Nobody turns in more honest AB's on this team. Just a plain old throwback professional ballplayer.
Interesting Cash brings his closer here. Makes sense. Cash has probably got to play a bunch of games like this all season long just to avoid 110 losses, games where he is trying to make up for the lack of player talent any way he can.
I would be surprised if they were booing JD as much as they were booing the "logic" that put him out there in LF in Fenway Park....not to mention putting Beni in CF.
