  1. It seems to me that the undeniable fact about bad teams this year is that they can't pitch.....like can't pitch AT ALL. Our greatest asset is still the middle of our batting order.
  2. I thought Eck was funny on the X HR call. "Second tank". Yea OK Eck...its debatable whether second tank in that spot in Yankmee stadium should even count as a HR.
  3. Looking at the remaining games for us, Yankees and Rays, we have the easier schedule I think. Its a good think because we show no ability to beat good teams lately.
  4. And its painfully true
  5. air its any consolation, just a quick check of the remaining schedules for the AL East teams suggests the Sox have the easiest road of the three teams coming home. They face more teams with little to no pitching which regardless of all they hoopla about hitting, is the name of this game. The problem with getting passed by the Rays and Yamkmees is that it also at least for now puts them behind the A's for wild card spots. We have a hard time winning games unless we can clone the O's around baseball.
  6. Geez these 7 inning specials go by so quickly. You would think the league and the franchises would give fans a break on ticket prices for these 7 inning specials. Good grief....lost my mind for a minute. What was I thinking??? A break from an MLB franchise.
  7. Things would go so much better for us if they would just give us 4 outs an inning. God I hope Manfred is not in the thread. His mind is always turning, I mean grinding.
  8. Watching this kid pitch is like watching paint dry.
  9. snark.....snark......snark
  10. So I see this has gone well. Maybe I should go back to White House Press Conferences
  11. Travis Shaw once again a Red Sox player. I wonder if Cadaver Henry rose up from his casket and told Bloom he needed to do something.
  12. HP ump has been completely clueless. Strikes are balls, balls are strikes and to me the worst sin a HP ump can make, the make-up call has been in abundance today which leads to no single player having any idea where the strike zone is.
  13. I would be looking to get tossed out of this game if I were managing the O's. Home plate ump is ridiculous and the O's actually at least have a shot at this game. I would have done it. What is there to lose.
  14. Wow, the O's just cannot pitch a lick. Anybody know if the Rays have as many games remaining with this AAA pitching staff as we have?
  15. No, but it was never a great idea. Less than controllable in use and often unpredictable in application. If you can't control the swelling with plain old ice, best to let it be as opposed to a spray intending to play through it.
  16. Geez, it does not appear the O's have anybody that can throw.
  17. The NESN crew has become totally enamored with the "which ballparks would that be a HR in" narrative. Doesn't matter what team what player, could be our guy or one of their guys. Fellas.....we are playing in the ballpark we are in tonight. It either goes out or it doesn't.
  18. Hate to call for sweeps. But you can't get run over by the Rays and Jays and then lose even a single game to the O's....not this time of year.
  19. I don't think so. Think we will make post season. I just don't think we will get very far once we get there.
  20. The 7 games remaining with the Rays this season who simply are better than we are IMO.
  21. Often its not the games back that kills you. Its the number of teams you have to pass to get back on top. If we fall behind NY or Toronto or both, we are in bad shape.
  22. Valdez choked. Hard to do with what....a 19 run lead especially since he can actually throw the damned ball. He might seek the aid of a sports psychiatrist. I don't remember many plain old lazy fly balls to CF or Right, the big parts of Fenway. Heck today's hitters are already trying to get the ball in the air. Should not be that hard with 7 runs to play with. Truth is, Valdez made Eck's point a day before he made it. Apparently THEY CAN'T do it.
  23. The natives are really going to be restless if we lose the O's series AT HOME no less.
  24. Eck saying Sheriff has to nibble even with a 7 run lead. Are you saying that today's pitchers cannot simply play to the big part of the ballpark even with a 7 run lead and just let the hitters hit themselves into outs? Is that what you are saying Eck?
  25. I hate to say it but when you are sitting at Fenway for a game like this (which I am not) you feel how much better the opponent is than the home 9 much more distinctly. Its like "Holy f***, we can't play with these guys".
