  1. Plus 1 ....Plus 1 squared.....Plus 1 cubed Too many teams....not enough actual good players to go around.
  2. Laughable base running all around MLB. You see mistakes and crappy base running you would not have expected from a decent high school team 15 years ago. But I forget, all that matters is hitting it over the fence. They simply do not know what to do with themselves if they are on the base paths.
  3. Its a good thing Rhu is not. a hard thrower. I don't think he has any idea where its going today when it leaves his hand.
  4. Rhu can't hit a single spot with any pitch in his arsenal.
  5. other than the one HR, that is the best swing X has taken in weeks.
  6. Verdugo has been hitting the ball pretty good of late as well. Cora has always IMO had this annoying tendency to pull a guy out of the lineup for a day of rest right in the middle of a pretty good hitting streak......Maddening!
  7. CF E. Hernandez R RF H. Renfroe R SS X. Bogaerts R 3B R. Devers L DH J. Martinez R C K. Plawecki R 1B Bobby Dalbec R 2B J. Arauz L LF Jarren Duran L CF G. Springer R 1B V. Guerrero R SS M. Semien R RF T. Hernandez R DH C. Dickerson L LF L. Gurriel R 2B B. Valera S 3B S. Espinal R C R. McGuire L Richards v Rhu does not have a cheery ring to it. While we won the nightcap last night we of course still lost ground to the Rays on the day. Cora still keeps diddling around with the two spot in the batting order. No idea what today's effort will yield.
  8. Anybody have any overall stats on these 7 inning double headers. It does make some sense that pitching would dominate if the starter now thinks he he will have done his job if he gets through not 6, not 5 but 4 innings and hands the game to the bullpen for the final 3. Frankly, I never liked the so called "quality start" moniker for 6 innings of work and I loath the new 5 innings is just fine thing. Heck that is just twice through the batting order assuming a few hits/BB's.
  9. The Sox overachieved in the first half. Nobody really expected them to be anywhere near first place, let alone in it. Another clear indication that there is not enough pitching and not even enough solid everyday players to spread around this many MLB teams.....wasn't this the largest trade deadline dump of all-stars and ex all-stars in history? In other words most teams had to consolidate good players from around the league to really have a shot. What did we do.....Schwarber on his exercise bike and a couple of relief arms. This team deserved to be rewarded for its first half efforts. A hitter that could have stepped right in and an actual starter would have been much preferred.
  10. NESN broadcast team trying to pump the audience on the hope of a Sox comeback in this game. Little do they know that there are about 20 guys and a ham sandwich watching at this point.
  11. Wow....embarrassing. Tell us more about how the "guys" are doing there work and "nothing has changed with us". Ah-huh. Sure Alex.
  12. Well that is about the span of time since the last time the Sox actually looked like they were in these baseball games. But I take your point. What is Whitlock in mothballs. Saving him for next year?
  13. They are young and the calling card of the young in this generation of young is to glorify loudmouth BS and strut around like the cock of the barnyard when they have not done squat. This "oh let the boys have fun" horseshit is just that....horseshit because it leads to this OTHER horseshit.
  14. Idiot NESN announcers pointing to the Bichette AB as THE ONE. Christ the Kirk first AB killed it and if it was not dead then Gritchik stuck another nail in it and the coup de grace was Valera who could not get down a bunt but could drive another junk pitch to the OF. By then Nate's head was spinning and the top of the Jays lineup smelled blood in the water.
  15. Bush or whatever the f*** his name is should have been out of the Sox dugout as soon as Nate started throwing Junk to the bottom of the Jays batting order. That was ridiculous. That is how that whole mess got started. Then the top of the Jays order came up and they swing early in counts as a matter of course. Nate was rattled, had guys on and they just poleaxed him early in counts.
  16. Jays are just laughing at us...especially Robles.
  17. Can we simply forfeit at this point.
  18. Worst half inning of the year or the Sox no matter how this game turns out.
  19. I just cannot believe Nate got into that jam THE WAY he got into it. Where the f*** did that come from? Here let me throw these dink balls, these shriveled nuts balls to the bottom of the Jays batting order. THAT WORKED.
  20. Nate turned into a Junker with the bottom of the Jays order and screwed himself in the process. Don't have any idea what he and Vaz thought they were doing.
  21. Ball 5 to Bichette but the count is 2-2
  22. Wow.....I don't like just giving in to Jr like this.
  23. I actually don't know what Nate is doing at this point. His split has been solid all game long and now he is dinking around like he is a Junker which he is not.
  24. Talk about a pitiful effort to bunt the ball. That was a joke.
