  1. Only LH hitter we have with good numbers against LH pitchers is Holt.
  2. I would give my eye teeth to have Gordon on this team
  3. He obviously should have been ready to hook Wright. Wright was not getting outs because his knuckle had come back. Wright was trying to work around his deficiency and that is the only reason he was getting outs. So Cora should have had somebody 5-7 warm ups away from being able to come in and didn't do that. Then when he had time to get Wright out ahead of Cruz he didn't do that either.
  4. Funny thing is that Johnson has not exactly been dazzling this year. So Cora is still not willing to use a "valued" reliever having actually put them in the position of being down 5. Cora is sort of an odd duck for my money. Sort of throws them in a hole and then piles the dirt on.
  5. Was reasonable all the way up to pitching to Cruz. No reason to think we are not going to score more runs. But pitching to Cruz with Wright with two on was sheer insanity.
  6. Who did not see that coming?
  7. Now here I think Cora is nuts. How do you let him pitch to Cruz again.
  8. Physically most dangerous OF in baseball. No question.
  9. Really tough on the manager. I really don't fault Cora here. He has his pen to think about. The problem with the knuckler that is on an off night is that there is every reason to worry that we will see another headed for orbit.
  10. The strange life of a knuckler. Wright recognizes that it is not moving as much as it normally does. So he is starting it just enough over to get the ball to the outer third of the plate. Should work SOME. I would be ready to get him outta' there quickly though.
  11. They are not going to risk taking the bat out of Cruz's hands
  12. Well, this game has 10 already in a little over an inning.
  13. OB sounding hopeful about Wright finding it. But Wright is not cooperating. This one has twenty runs written all over it so far.
  14. Wrights knuckle doing nothing and LeBlanc is just dead in the middle of the plate with nothing FB's. XB might bring us all the way back right here.
  15. Mookie is surely back
  16. You could see it on the slow-mo. That was way too much rotation for a knuckleball to Cruz which is why it did nothing. The HR after it...same story. Too much rotation.
  17. 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Andrew Benintendi (L) CF 3. J.D. Martinez ® LF 4. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B 5. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 6. Rafael Devers (L) 3B 7. Brock Holt (L) 2B 8. Christian Vazquez ® C 9. Blake Swihart (S) DH And who do I find at the bottom of the order....Swihart. At least he will be batting RHed. His LH swing has become something that actually hurts to look at. So there is that.
  18. I have thought we have been pitcher heavy from day 1 of the season. I think its been 13 for the entire season. Just too many especially when the last everyday player on your bench is Swihart.
  19. STOP THAT! Just kidding of course.
  20. I don't like the tone the "inflammation" discussion has taken on Pedey lately. I am worried that knee is going to shut Pedey down more than somebody deciding it for him. Really more disappointed for Pedey than I am for us just because he deserves better. I know this is going to sound odd, but Porcello does this so many times it really is fun to watch as long he does not give up too many runs early. I get a kick out of him going from meh early in games to an absolute monster in the middle innings. He does it enough times that it is worth looking forward to again with the caveat that he can't give up so much early that he really puts the game in jeopardy before we can get our feet under us. I don't know why it happens with Rick. it surely happens enough that its noticeable.
  21. I would bet real money that at the end of this season the Sox are going to ship JBJ off to anywhere. Antarctica for example. Don't they have a team? The Antarctica Snow Cats!
  22. All I know is the everyday players better be getting the rotation anything they want to drink, carry their luggage, take food orders etc etc etc.
  23. What the F--k is NESN doing? CF cameraman have a little too much to drink? Production crew on lunch
  24. Rick has this facility to go from looking iffy at the start of the game to just blowing hitters away by the middle innings. its not like he gets a little better. He gets a whole lot better.
  25. Now that we have knocked their best players out of the game (nhark...nhark...nhark) we might win this thing.
