  1. Nats have packed it in. Both managers should just lift their caps to each other and call it a night.
  2. They might have survived a Henry Owens start but I am not sure I would have.
  3. I would give BJ another start. At this point I think he would get the last game of a Royals series????? Nothing scary about the Royals this year.
  4. Roark taking one for the team unlike somebody else we know.
  5. Really got to hand it to the pitchers in this heat, especially Porcello and ole' Blue/Brown eyes from last night.
  6. Hembree is probably proud of that foul tip. I don't blame him. I would be in his place.
  7. I don't get that either. At least give the kid a chance to win it. Can't really buy injury cause he left him out there to get the first two outs.
  8. I am not real sure about this trend of pitchers sitting with everyday players in the dugout. In my day all the pitchers sat in their little corner if they were in the dugout, holding their secret little pitchers meetings. We were sure they were all talking about how easy it would be to get us out if we only played for somebody else. PITCHERS!!!
  9. Nah...they are probably on the verge of hurting themselves fist pumping and forearm pumping and chest pumping..."Yea ...pitchers rule....bang ...ouch.....geez...I'm so mad I'm gonna' throw my glove!"
  10. Watching BJ out there on the bases is a testament to the wicking capabilities of modern materials. In my day a pitcher on the base paths would always don a jacket even in severe heat because the materials just held all that sweat against your body and no matter how hot it was, standing around out there the slightest breeze would start to give you a chill. Sort of desired the first breeze that went through you but not so much for a pitcher a couple of minutes in. I can't remember the last time I saw a pitcher put on his jacket out on the bases.
  11. Gotta' find the wall first JD. Oh well, I would rather the double than a damaged JD
  12. OB the play by play guy losses track of the outs in the inning.
  13. I should have pointed out from my last post about the Sox and tagging runners out that if either of my grandmothers (God love them) were trying to run the bases they would have to be carting this big granite slab around the bases with them and the 2016-2017 Sox would STILL have had trouble getting a successful tag down on them.
  14. And its time to just say it because it is too obvious for me to let just go by. It should be clear at this point that the Sox previous issues with getting a tag down were for the most part due to Farrell not doing anything about it. Last couple years, this team could not tag my grandmother without screwing it up somehow. This season, game after game, especially from mid-May on, tag after tag has been very well executed all over the diamond.
  15. Nunez 3 run HR to Left
  16. Earth to Brian....when you are the last out of the inning as a pitcher, you don't hustle down the line, especially in 8,000 degree heat with nobody on ahead of you.
  17. You got him mad splinter
  18. Well at least we are not down 4-0. Yeah....a first inning 0-0 tie.....I'm encouraged!!!
  19. I would not like to see that too often. Thirty pitches is simply too many pitches for him and he was up to thirty before the idiot ump missed the call.
  20. So many of them miss the the pitch that goes to the bottom of the zone after seeing a bunch at the top of the zone. Its almost like they are teaching the umps to call some sort of relative strike zone now instead of an actual strike zone. Year after year I tend to notice they miss more and more pitches that can be characterized that way.
  21. Great game. Lesson to Cora. Even 4 out saves are not exactly Kimgrel's strong suit.
  22. This guy Eaton is starting to piss me off and he is not even in our league
  23. Said it weeks ago and its just as true today...Devers and Beni are both still young enough that their seasons are going to be described by peaks and valleys, peaks and valleys, not steady climbs to anywhere.
  24. A.....very.....professional.....baseball....player. Still have to be a bit careful how often we run Holt out there though. Still should have used him more to this point than we have.
  25. I am sure Lavanche, being diplomatic and all just said something like "gee the FB seems pretty good tonight. I think you should throw that don't you?" Whereas I would have walked out there and said.....what the f*** was that!!!!
