  1. Cardiac innings...You want to think we will survive many of those post season, be my guest. Wright would be best used post season earlier in a game leaving the Sox some time to come back if he has a knuckler melt down. 5th or 6th inning...no later. Unfortunately I suspect he will get those opportunities post season. If we are truly left depending on Wright in the 7th inning of tied post season games, that will simply be another telltale sign that WE HAVE NO PEN.
  2. This is a good spot for Holt
  3. Has it occurred to you that Cora is poking around looking for something that might work? Hasn't found it yet has he.
  4. I was going to post something else and did not correct the sentence before posting. If you look you will see that I already edited it ala...should not have brought in Wright there. We have no pen and a knucler does not belong in the 7th inning of a tie game particularly against a good team.
  5. Yea I have been watching. You don't bring a knuckler into the 7th inning of a tie game unless you have suicidal tendencies. Once in Brasier should have stayed in for the next inning as opposed to bringing in Wright there. But it hardly matters. WE HAVE NO PEN that can handle anything other than clean innings and even THAT will be a challenge for these guys in post season play. How are you liking Wright here. You liking this! Think we get through many cardiac late innings like this in the post season?
  6. That is not optimal baseball. Baseball is a multidimensional game. If you want a league like that, start it, call it something else and knock your mind out.
  7. Correct, he is a bonafide long reliever, not a guy you need with runners on in a tie game in the 7th. Too many chances to throw it right past the catcher for one thing which he has already done once this inning if you have not noticed and too many chances that just coming in to the game the knuckler does not knuckle and its out on the Mass Pike somewhere.
  8. OH even with ESPN audio off I could tell that look at greatest Astros moments of this game was some dripping with gush, creaming in their pants BS about the Astros. Thank God I missed the audio on that.
  9. I would avoid putting anybody in that particular situation. You just cannot trust this pen AT ALL in that sort of mess. Leave the starter in and try to give him a chance to get through it and then give your pen a clean inning next inning. That is all these guys are capable of.
  10. EEI guys think we got a huge break on that. I tend to agree. Great play by Sandy to even make it close enough to get the call.
  11. What the f*** is the matter with you ESPN...super slow mo the point where Altuve is hitting the plate and Sandy is tagging him. God even NESN does that.
  12. Wright throwing knucklers in the 7th of a tie game. You have got to be kidding Cora.
  13. Now I will agree that with Brasier now up and in the game, I would not have gone to Wright here. What is Wright doing here in the 7th inning of a tie game????
  14. He has been deadly getting clean innings. Cora pushed him to coming in with ducks on the pond and he failed not more than a couple nights ago. That said is he likely a better option than Hembree. But neither has proven to be a good option, certainly not better than staying with your starter until you just can't any longer. They are all of them other than Kimbrel just playing Russian Roulette with too many rounds chambered.
  15. Don't get me wrong..I have been saying for a month that I was not convinced that Hembree should even make the post season roster. But that does not help the problem. We are grabbing at straws and Monday Morning quarterbacking. I repeat..the best way to handle this pen is to leave them out there throwing sunflower seeds at each other. No matter what it takes, leave them out there until you just can't stay with your starter.
  16. Brasier was a total fail the last time he was called on in the Hembree situation. There is just nobody to call on out of that pen against a really good team.
  17. Cora learning a painful lesson here. Even at 95 pitches and struggling a bit, against a quality team calling on this pen is just playing Russian Roulette with 5 chambers loaded hoping you land on the one open.
  18. We still have to get through the 7th and 8th before Kimbrel even takes his jacket off.
  19. Gotta' love that bullpen. Cora still does not have a post season pen answer that is worth a darn.
  20. Keuchel deserved every bit of that. What a terrible Change up.
  21. That was not an effort to pitch to Mookie at all
  22. That was a really nice comeback inning from Rick. Stayed out of the middle of the plate. Got guys out.
  23. Geez that was tagged pretty good too. Do these guys ever dribble anything? Everything they hit seems to be pounded.
  24. Notice how often umps miss the outside part of the plate early in games. As bad as they are generally they seem to be utterly incapable of seeing the outer edge early in games no matter who they are.
  25. I so wish ESPN didn't have this game. Its killing me to have to wait for an 8:00PM start and then knowing I am going to have to depend on WEEI for audio.
