Be interesting to see where the MFY's are after this west coast swing. The A's are doing well. Hopefully the Mariners will have recovered from their in-team clubhouse fight by the time they get up to Seattle.

So for once, the OF is not in that pinched/shift and the guy hits it into the gap. Of course he does. I wish we actually had a stat for how often the hitter beats all these complicated shifts without even trying. Other than either the SS or the 2nd baseman shading the hole up the middle, I am not sure it is really as effective as people think it is, at least not when it is deployed in some fashion for every tom, dick or larry with a bat in his hands.

Of course he will. They are paying him too much and they need a lefty. Is he actually worse than Poyner or Scott? Now I do think Velazquez will get dumped in favor of Wright. Velazquez only goes because he has a flexible or resilient arm. I suspect Wright, if he works out can fill that bill.

Lyons is really getting on my nerves lately. Every single thing a competing player does is s*** and every single thing a Sox player does is pure golden s***. Then we have a new one..."good doubles". Well OK Steve if there are good doubles then there are bad doubles. Care to define a bad double for me!

Actually it looks like there are a ton of those "table" or shelf seats all over this place. I suppose its OK. But it makes me wonder if that upper deck is there to make up for the seats those tables cost them. That upper deck is going to require binoculars and oxygen. That thing is way up and way back.

Notice Suzuki comes up from his crouch when he wants the pitcher to throw up and out of the strike zone as well. Most of the catchers in MLB do. It really is not as important that the batter might know that a pitch up is coming. The pitch is going to be out of the strike zone anyway. The battery is trying to get the hitter to change his eye level. Even if you see the catcher move and you know the high pitch is coming your mind imprints to the last thing you saw which was that ball up in your eyes. It is then easier to get the low pitch past the hitter.

Well he's got a few walks and his pitch count is hideous but staying out of the middle of the plate has at least kept damage away.

Our LH hitters have been getting beaten up by Changes and Cutters and our RH hitters are chasing everything they see. Have been for a few weeks now.

So for anybody who has been in this new park, did they create a section of LF grandstands with something like a shelf in front of the seats to lean your elbows on if you want or maybe for food and drink and an tablet?

Sox need to create a long half inning here or Evo won't make it through the 2nd IMO.

Gonna walk a run in if the next batter just keeps the bat on his shoulder. I don't know Stevie. I think we may have seen Evo's last 100 FB on the day.

Just a reminder...today's game (Monday) is a 1:00 start in Atlanta. NESN does have the game if you want to avoid the three monkeys of ESPN. Sox lost on Sunday. So another member can take the game thread for Monday. I will only start one if we get to 1:05 and nobody else has.
