  1. I didn't know at all, Just remembered him fielding 2nd a lot in spring training this year.
  2. Was Ciriaco generally a 2nd baseman in his minor league career?
  3. I was thinking how hot they would have to get and for how long before I got excited. Probably have to see like 11 of 15 wins before I thought the ship was getting straightened out.
  4. Salty walks..... and to think I was here to see it, sweet.
  5. I have both starting pitchers on my fantasy teams. Could only play one tonight. Took a small gamble and went with Dubront.
  6. Just nailed down tickets for the 23rd. Box 101 row CC. $90.00 a piece. And I scored free tickets to the Patriots Eagles pre season game! Me be pretty excited.
  7. Thinking one manager is going to fix this is like thinking a new spark plug is what an engine needs that is ceased up and had sugar poured in the gas tank. What I have come to conclude is that this is an organization in chaos. This is different and much worse than a bad team. With an organization in chaos you will never even honestly know if the team is good or bad. Until a clear leader emerges in the organization and everyone from the owner down to the bat boy is focused on one clear goal and unified with one clear plan the team will just be a bunch of different divided and frustrated camps blaming failures on a myriad of scape goats because their attention is not focused on where they are headed as a team.
  8. I am quite interested to see how Lester does this inning.
  9. I've become a pretty big believer that there is a huge mental connection to a batters performance and his pitchers performance / and the other way also.
  10. It would be nice for Jon if the offense could do a little more here. One run right now for the Sox would really help keep him calm and confident when he returns to the mound.
  11. This is the slowest I've ever seen the game thread during a game. wow.
  12. How can a pitcher be so Jeckyl and Hyde (I realize that could be spelled wrong). But I mean what is going on. One game Lester looks like Lackey and today he is out there like he is a Cy younger.
  13. Just turned the radio on for the game since Fox's "national" coverage of the game.... is not on in my part of the nation!!!!!!!!!!!! How did we score three?
  14. I hate how mlb .TV blacks out these games from me and Fox only broadcasts the games in certain regions. Once again thanks Fox I can't watch the game I want.
  15. The story with V. On WEEI says V. Ignored the 4 day thing as h wanted his players playing. V. is quoted as saying he knows better now. He is not the manager, he has found he is a marketing tool that did not work. The way Tito was fired, the way V. has been neutered and not backed up by management...... wow, who the hell is going to even want to he the next Sox manager! Does Robert Kraft like baseball?
  16. Do they have good wifi there so everyone could post on the game thread that day:D
  17. Most job descriptions at most police dept.s. address code of conduct, representing the department, conduct unbecoming an Officer.... on and off duty. You wear the badge you know how you act off duty can effect your job. And if you get a public reputation for being racist or something, it will make it difficult to do your job.
  18. I like this. He has quickly learned he is damned no matter what you say. Ever wonder why Bill Belichick speaks in such short general and generic phrases with the media for all these years. The over reactionary media does not lend itself in getting honest answers from coaches. I watched the YES broadcast of yesterday's game and the NY announcers were talking about Bobby V. They stated that watching him is like seeing Bobby Lite, they did not feel Boston got the real Bobby at all. Ownership, players, and media.... none want the real Bobby. Bobby vetting fired- what the heck makes us think he would want to come e back?
  19. Bobby can stay or Bobby can go, it does not matter. Watching this group (not team) all year it should be obvious that it is way beyond a one person problem. We are not a couple of pitchers away, we are not a catcher away, and not a manager away from being a strong playoff team. There is obviously a huge attitude, chemistry, a hole, issue with this group. Something in the mix is poisoning it and has robbed the passion from itself. Negativity spreads much faster and easier then positive attitudes and whiny selfish bitchiness has run through this group like a wildfire. Thinking the right manager could fix it is delusional. And there are obvious talent problems, bad (major way bad) contracts, a manager who was neutered, distracted ownership, a media that makes it miserable for players, a fan base that does not know how to loose a game without demanding somebody's head. We can stop with these threads insinuating one player, or a couple players, or the manager are the problem. Folks for as much as you may not like Bobby V., don't put your faith in this team turning things around on him leaving. You will be really disappointed when the next manager has the same problems. As bad a you may think Bobby V is, the Sox a a whole are much more broken and dysfunctional than he is. Fact: Sox are many personal changes away and several years away from changing. Get used to it.
  20. I do not know enough about the minor league players to give a very knowledgeable answer, but right now I'd say Will Middlebrooks and maybe Pedroia. I'd also hold on to Morales and Dubront. I think they will get better and better and are young and cheap. They seem to have good attitudes and are hungry to compete. Lester, I am on the fence on. Need to see if he has the self fortitude to improve this year.
