  1. ... division opponents they'll need to play all year?
  2. I hate to admit it but boy am I nervous.... I really can't take another terrible Sox season. I want to watch competitive games throughout the year. I know it's to early to tell anything... but the last few years have me nervous.
  3. He's really seems to over manage the fielders... and under manage the pitchers
  4. Maybe Holt can come in and pitch the 9th for us.
  5. Dave... .please fire Mr. Farrell today. He had 13... in a year where everything fell perfectly and anyone could have managed a good team. Other than that, complete failure... last place mismanaged teams. Nothing close to average.
  6. lol, commentator "John Farrell will not mess around anymore."
  7. Clay needs to have a talk with the manager real quick... inform him he'd like a chance at the W.
  8. Nobody else in the pen? Can Kimbrell not get 5 outs? WTH manager???
  9. That's my fault. I picked him up for my fantasy team today... and I also let Buchholz go....Brilliant!
  10. Way to get it started Rutlidge... but at least he's providing a days rest to our third baseman... who's playing first today???
  11. Glad our starters are all getting rested.. nice play Rutledge / Farrell
  12. As little as I really understand about baseball... Farrell has lost me. This early in and he seems like a moron.
  13. But will you disavow them?
  14. There is certainly logic there... but at some point that money is coming out of somebody's pocket. In this case a $95 million contract. To say just eat the money to hold onto prospects means you value the prospects at $95 million. I'd rather eat 40-50 million, get rid of some prospects that may or may not be worth anything and find a pitcher that helps us win this year. It's really a no win situation. Nobody is right or wrong here. How to handle the Sandavol contract is like deciding which prison boss to whore yourself to in order to survive in prison... .really no good choices.
  15. Ervin... which would be a great #4 or #5 for us. Solidifying the starting rotation is the biggest glaring need to be a top contender this year.
  16. I suspect Swihart will be trade bait.... The Sox are in a terrible situation with the Sandavol contract... it's just way too much money to say "move on" and not play him or get anything for him. The only way they could possibly move him to another team is to eat large portions of the contract and give away a couple high profile young players, like Swihart. If the Sox move forward with C.Vasquez, Sandy Leon, and Hannigan as options they will be just fine at catcher. It sucks, but that is the reality I fear. Would someone like the Twins put a Sandavol (at small cost to them) and a few young prospects on their roster for a Santana if they completely suck 30 games into the season???
  17. Kelly does not look confident or comfortable on the mound. He looks worried to me. If he has any chance to be successful he needs to get his head right on there. He has the stuff.... figure it out Joe!
  18. I'll hijack this Pablo thread a bit... It is glaring what a disastrous signing Pablo has been, how terrible of a job he did in the off-season, and how unprepared he was to play. At the same time what an amazing job Hanley has done this off-season. He truly seems to have put some work in, wants to make up for last year, and is playing great offense and defense. Good for Hanley.
  19. C'mon Kelly... give us 6 outs
  20. Not unless they put Chris Young on the DL also.
  21. I wonder if bringing in a manager with pitching experience would helps this staff....errr, wait.. never mind.
