  1. These 2 went head-to-head in April at Fenway. We won. Let's do it again
  2. Giants, White Sox, and Red Sox have all played relatively easy schedules thus far. Dodgers have just been plagued by injuries.
  3. Chalk it up to stage freight. Sox s*** the bed when they were there too. Takes some time to get used to capacity crowds again.
  4. A lot of injuries are the result of genetics. Some people, like Stanton, are just genetically more prone to injuries. I am one of the lucky ones. I played baseball, basketball and football growing up, and I never missed a game or practice due to an injury. Worst I ever had was a jammed thumb or rolled ankle. One year during baseball tryouts, there was a pop in my shoulder while I was running suicides, but it turned out to be nothing serious. Not everyone can be an ironman.
  5. Yeah it was a huge risk to leave Lopez in against the Dodgers but I had a party at 4 and I didn't see Cease get pulled so I figured you would pull ahead in QS. Glad that Haniger and Ramirez had a good day in that game too, or else OBP could have flipped again. Definitely the closest matchup I've had so far.
  6. Every official sports site I've ever looked at would display it like this: 1. Red Sox 2. Blue Jays T3. Yankees T3. Rays 5. Orioles So, techincally, there is no 4th place team. But, if we're arguing about the optics of the standings, you know it's a pretty light day LOL. Not a bad thing.
  7. I'm looking for a base stealer and/or a middle infielder. Somebody make me a good offer. I'd be willing to trade just about anybody
  8. All I know is that Montgomery allowed me to win my fantasy matchup with bkz, so I'm happy. He likely would have held on if Montgomery had a better start
  9. Technically, the Yanks and Rays are tied for 3rd, not 4th, but I appreciate your optimistic point of view! Jays offense is red hot, and that is without Springer. But, they lack pitching, or at least healthy pitching. They haven't named a starter for tomorrow, so likely a bullpen day, or they call up Nate Pearson, who got shelled last time out. Wednesday is Ross Stripling, and Thursday is Steven Matz, both of whom have been inconsistent. We won't see Ryu this series.
  10. Yesterday was disappointing, but I think it is the exception, instead of the rule, moving forward. Barnes can't be perfect every time out, and Ohtani is a great baseball player. Tip your cap to him and move on. Big series here with Toronto. Let's win the series and stay in 1st place as long as possible
  11. Taylor needs to learn how to cover 1st
  12. And they are backups, too! Too bad Arauz is heading down for Tuesday's game, I would imagine
  13. Those O's sure are gritty when it comes to avoiding sweeps
  14. Over the last week or so I have really started to appreciate how patient Cora is. I think it's a big part of this team's success so far
  15. Wow Nate can get a win now
  16. The real mistake there was throwing something low to Chavis
  17. Rafi is only one behind Judge, Haniger and Acuna for the league lead in HR
  18. After all these years of screwing us over, Joe Maddon finally throws us a bone
  19. Yes indeed. Sad to see my guy Pollock go down. His career has been ruined by injuries. Could have been a perennial all-star. He was in 2016, the only year he was fully healthy
  20. Looks like good Nate today
  21. Regular day of rest for Vazquez and Verdugo sitting against the lefty makes sense. Pretty decent lineup considering
  22. Thanks. It was so subtle I thought nobody would notice.
  23. They have both already been banged up on multiple occasions. Nothing significant, though. I hope they stay healthy, but you're right. It does seem inevitable for one or both to go down for an extended time
