  1. I'm pulling for the Celtics as hard as any real Celtics fan is right now, but I just don't see how it can be done. LeBron carrying this team on his back looks a lot like Brady carrying the Patriots to the Super Bowl back when they had no competent healthy receivers and one of the worst offensive lines in the league. I will always root for the underdog in sports, and I will always love to see a changing of the guard, or at least not seeing the same teams in the championship games every year (the big issue I have with the NBA at the moment), but when the G.O.A.T. is on a rampage, it's just impossible to stop. I'm still in shock that the Eagles beat the Patriots, and I will be just as surprised, if not more so, if the Celtics win this series, even though I really want them to. As for the Finals, assuming it's between Golden State and Cleveland, that one is up in the air. Advantage Golden State, but anything goes right now with LeBron.
  2. I'm serious though. You know how early in the season I went on a 9 game GT mojo streak? I couldn't stand being around here during the actual games themselves because of some of the things you people were saying, and that was going on while we were in route to a 17-2 start. At that point, what more could you possibly want from this team? Who cares if someone was slumping, or somebody made an error? We were winning goddammit. And now, we've simply evened out. A baseball season has so many natural fluctuations. We're a little stuck in the mud right now. It's no big deal. We'll get out of it. Stop making this place sound like we're as bad as the Orioles or something.
  3. Tell me what this means. What are you trying to say here? I hate stats.
  4. We're fine. Look at the record and the offensive numbers, both have which far exceeded my expectations.
  5. So this is a perfect representation of the kind of negativity that keeps me away from this place on some occasions. I get that Barnes is having issues, but he got out of it. I get that in the moment, it felt like he was going to blow it. We lost, but not because of him. I'm not saying Barnes is good, and doesn't have control problems, but as a whole, people need to be a little more positive around here. Have some faith. We're a first place team. We know how to get through tough games. And, based on how the season has gone so far, how can you possibly say that just because of this one potential gaffe (which didn't even cost us the game), that Cora sucks? IMO, he's beating Boone for Manager of the Year just based on the fact that Boone has more talent to work with. Is that the kind of person you are? Is that how all of you on this place are? A man makes what looks like one bad decision at the time and now all of a sudden he sucks and you people hate him? I don't like being a member of a community that thinks like that.
  6. Sale has been an interesting case this season. While his ERA is still very respectable, what many would call good, he's been giving up his fair share of runs. The issue of run support, as we have established, is a pretty significant problem. I feel bad for him when he's forced into a no decision and stuff, but the games we end up losing because of that are even worse. At least he's not taking the loss.
  7. I think we still need to give him time. Certainly he's no power hitter, but it's still too early in his career to make that assessment.
  8. The 14-1 game I went to at Fenway? Sale vs Severino. Yes, it was cold. Yes, the Yankees weren't on fire. Yes, most of the runs came off errors/bullpen. But, we can hit Severino. We knocked him around that night.
  9. This entire series doesn't line up that well for us in the pitching department. Win. Dance. Repeat. x4
  10. Congrats dude. I'm sorry I missed this. Finals are done now so I got some time to kill, which might not be a good thing considering there's more of you now.
  11. Of course Fister has a decent ERA once he leaves Boston. Win. Dance. Repeat. x3
  12. Let me know when you guys need my 9 game win streak mojo. I'm heading into finals week over here so I'll be incommunicado for the next 10 days.
  13. Oh, so you're one of those people. Watching the recording while already knowing the score. I can't stand that. That's why I try to watch everything live, or not watch at all.
  14. Win. Dance. Repeat. x9
  15. 160-2 is only impossible until someone does it
  16. The #SaleDay train is rolling through Oakland, making the next door neighbors, the Warriors, proud.
  17. I came back in time last night to see the grand slam! Life is pretty frickin' great right now
  18. ESPN's Stephen A. Smith is coming to UConn tonight, so I will gladly miss this one. Win. Dance. Repeat. x8
  19. You must be an old setpuagenerian. My dad's almost 73, and he's a baby boomer
  20. Gen Z is where it's at my man
  21. Well, I'm not wrong.
  22. Well, I've seen three managers in my lifetime. Cora is definitely in the top 3.
  23. This team is blowing my mind every single night. To keep the mojo going, I will not watch this one, as I have not seen much (if any) of the first two games of the series. Win. Dance. Repeat. x7
  24. This is why I've tried to avoid such strong language in the past. Eventually, I guess UN? wore off on me.
  25. You and so many others start such stupid threads like these, nitpicking at one little tiny thing about our team that really isn't even an issue. We're 14-2 and you guys still find stuff to complain about. Plus, he's only had 4 starts. Let's all relax a little bit. I get yelled and cursed at on here all the time. Don't take it personally.
