  1. The atmosphere in Winnipeg has been fantastic in the first two games. I'm expecting the same energy from the Vegas crowd in what already has been a thoroughly entertaining series.
  2. Golden State showed why they're still the best team in the league last night in Game 1
  3. Betts RF Benintendi CF Ramirez 1B Martinez LF Bogaerts SS Nunez 2B Swihart DH Devers 3B Leon C
  4. LHP Sean Manaea vs RHP Rick Porcello (5-0, 2.79) We gotta jinx the no-no now so it doesn't happen again. Replace those memories with the memories of the Oakland series at Fenway each of the last two years when we absolutely steamrolled the A's. Good vibes only. My mojo is 11-1. Win. Dance. Repeat. x3
  5. Agreed. If anybody comes back from 3-0, it'll be LeBron. Not saying it will get to 3-0, however.
  6. If you're calling me right wing, that couldn't be farther from the truth.
  7. LHP Drew Pomeranz (1-1, 5.23) vs RHP Joe Biagini (0-1, 8.10) Oh, so Toronto has a bullpen day now too? Slap these Jays so hard they become black, not blue. Win. Dance. Repeat. x2
  8. Man, I'm being proven wrong a lot today. The point is, with the anthem protests last year, less people watched the NFL, while NBA television ratings are as high as they've ever been. After scouring the Internet, however, the NFL is still king, but the NBA has closed the gap considerably.
  9. True. In fact, millenials get bored watching baseball. The NBA is the most popular sport in America now.
  10. Well put. I want to come back to this in a few weeks after we have seen his response to this prolonged time off.
  11. They appeal to millennials, which is the age group making the league the most money at the moment. But yes, they are from some point in the last two years. They don't do it anymore. I still don't know why. But, every time one of my GTs has ended in a win this season, I have brought it back.
  12. Lol. Didn't notice that until you pointed it out.
  13. I agree. The prototypical lead off hitter has been re-imagined as the emphasis in the game has been even more firmly planted on offense.
  14. I like Moreland too, and these two seasons in Boston have been much better than I thought. Still, I don't like the face value between swapping out Martinez for JBJ on defense and Moreland for JBJ on offense. The defensive loss is still greater than the offensive gain.
  15. Actually, it's pretty darn good umpiring from my perspective.
  16. Betts is a perfect leadoff hitter. How can you have a problem with him? The Astros won a title last year with Springer leading off, who's offensive game is very much similar to Betts. Betts is probably even a littler better than Springer, which is tough for me to say since Springer is a UConn guy.
  17. The thing worth noting here is that Boston's wings are far better than any that Cleveland has faced so far in the playoffs. If their youth shines in the moment and they get hot, they could pose a matchup problem for the Cavs. This applies to the other side of the ball as well.
  18. If I use the ignore feature, I'll just be having a conversation with myself.
  19. Defensively, JBJ is far greater. I think we can all agree on that. Offensively, Moreland is better, but the difference is only marginal, and far less than the difference between the gloves of Martinez and Bradley. Not worth it in my mind. I'm a little sentimental towards JBJ too, but that's not a big factor here. I'm a business major. I shut down my feelings.
  20. LHP David Price (2-4, 5.11) vs RHP Marco Estrada (2-2, 5.21) Better be the good Price today. Nobody cares if you can't feel your hand. Go out there and pitch. The train is getting ready to leave. Hop on board. Win. Dance. Repeat.
  21. This is no excuse, but I'm a little crabby today. Mia culpa
  22. Don't worry, I got that. I was just still venting.
  23. I guess I've missed the entire point of this thread then. I thought we were talking about JBJ here. What does Martinez being good have to do with whether or not we should trade JBJ? If we use Martinez to replace JBJ in the outfield, that would be an absolute disaster in every sense of the word.
  24. Yeah, like UN? said, that's crazy talk. Get Swihart out of here.
