See, I think that's a sign of the times, and highlights the generational gap. All the players now seem to be pretty good friends. Judge and Mookie get along well, and it's a common theme among all sports these days. The new generation of pro athletes have much more comradorie these days. Baseball rivalries aren't what they used to be, and baseball fans aren't what they used to be. People my age don't really hate our "rival" fans or teams. Football is different, but it's still evolved. Phio State fans have a strong disdain for Michigan fans and vice versa, but in many places they coexist. I think modern athletes have done a great job being role models for more respectful but still competitive behavior. We don't hate our rivals, we get along with them, pick their brains, and appreciate their achievements. Do we still want to beat them? Of course. It's human nature. But there's far less bad blood in sports today.
