    Hated to see Iggy go, but I guess as stated he wasn't in the plans of the FO. Not overly impressed with Peavy, but I could see him helping us. Just mixed feelings all around. I'd have to say BC got the best deal he could for starting pitching of what was available.

    I think this is pretty much all it is. Generate hype about a book on baseball. Most people think baseball is boring, due to not understanding the game. Try to play the book up as a big "expose" on the Red Sox and generate interest/sales. I seriously do not think someone like Tito wants to appear to be a rat that sings about all the bad that an organization has. It makes him look bad, and no owner would want that to be a part of their team. To me the book will be much ado about nothing.

    I'd love to see the Red Sox do a reclaimation project with Bay. Low cost one year deal to try to up his value. If he's truly done, you cut your losses.

    I didn't want Farrell, but I can live with him as manager. Seems to have already caused some energy with the players, so that has to be something. We will see what happens.

    I'll admit I liked the hiring of Valentine. I thought he would have done much better than what he did. Not sorry to see him go. I just hope it's not Farrell replacing him.

    Did he go there involuntarily, or was that team's make-up kept hidden from him? He went in there knowing what he was getting into. I have no sympathy for Mills. I think the firing of McClure was overdue, but I thought they would wait till this season was over to do it.
