  1. I did, right before I turned off NESN. I also did not understand why a last place team celebrated like they just got into the playoffs on their walk off win. I mean, was there champagne in the locker room after that? I can see being happy with a win, but their still going home too. Just seemed retarded to me. As for the team, I don't care what changes have to be made. There is obviously something wrong with a team that opens the season like they did and then finish the season like they did. I don't really care who is let go at this point, I am so pissed off.
  2. I can not believe how bad the Sox look recently. I just don't know what is going on.
  3. I understand it completely. I just think he is better for us than a lot of people give him credit for.
  4. What's all this anti-Lackey BS? He is a legitimate #3 starter for us. Look at what he has done in his last 5-6 starts and tell me that is not a #3 starter. He has given up 4 runs in 5 innings. I have no problem with Lackey.
  5. Sweet! I hope we can extend the lead tonight. As stated earlier, I abhor these west coast games.
  6. I think as long as they keep giving Jeter a gold glove every year, anything is possible.
  7. I am hoping that Lackey continues his good second half play and we win this one.
  8. Not to sound like Chicken Little, or anything, but this team is starting to worry me. We had trouble with the White Sox, and the Yankees basically walked all over them. We have trouble beating Cleveland, and we should have taken 3 of those with no trouble. Now this game tonight....seriously? We can't score more than 2 runs on Colon? Wow.
  9. I think Oki-Doki can fill that position better than anyone we could have acquired in trade. I miss Okijima, and I think he will be our lefty out of the pen.
  10. I don't think the Yankees were wrong in asking for the MRI. I think they did well in passing on UJ...same for my Sox. I am glad we did not get him. By the end of the year, you will see that he is not what everyone thinks he is. There is no other reason that CR was willing to trade him. Sorry Cleveland....I think you bought a pig in a poke.
  11. I definitely agree. The best news to me was that we did not clear out the farm system of what we had for what was available out there...Bedard, Harden, et. al. Shrewd trade that should reap some reward for us....though I still think Bedard is our #4 starter at best.
  12. Very interesting. I think someone said that he did not take a rehab start in the minors. If that's true and this was his "rehab" start, then I think he will do a lot better in the coming weeks. I do not have any fear that he will "crumble" under the pressure of the Boston media. I think the team will take care of him to the extent that it becomes a non-issue.
  13. I just think he takes a ton of grief here. I know he has not been the brilliant pitcher everyone expected when he signed the gigantic deal. I can offer no defense to that. I just think he is a much better pitcher than a lot of fans, (including my wife), give him credit. I see him stepping it up in the stretch run and being a difference maker.
  14. I think Lackey is going to surprise a lot of people down the stretch. I think he looks good. He will be our #3 starter in the post-season over Bedard. Just my opinion, but I think Lackey is looking up recently, (last 4 starts).
  15. Good point, but I think with both of them healthy, Reddick would sit. I was very impressed with Kalish when he was healthy, but I see what you mean about each of their strengths.
  16. Kalish will ultimately make Reddick expendable, I believe.
  17. I think it ultimately makes us a better team. As stated, we would have lost some of those prospects anyways. I think the alternative, (doing nothing), would have been worse.
  18. I also do not think Bedard's first start after the DL was indicative of what he can bring to the team. I would reserve judgement until he has 3-4 games with the Red Sox under his belt. I hope he stays healthy and delivers what we need down the stretch and into the post season. He is an upgrade for Miller/Wake/Aceves.
