  1. Wasn't he part of the ownership that just won a World Series?
  2. I am feeling a little better than I did earlier today. I think they probably got as much as they could from what they were willing to deal. I don think very many teams were willing to give up very much as so many teams are still in it. We shall see in the off season what happens.
  3. I agree. We get to watch try outs the rest of the way this year to see who works out for the club. (Not that the season as a whole was going that well anyways.)
  4. Overall, a bad day, in my opinion. We'll see how it plays out in the off season as the rest of this season will be unwatchable.
  5. Consider me greatly underwhelmed. That was the best they could get for Lester? Great deal for the A's.
  6. You can't argue with that kind of iron clad bona fides.
  7. So, you're proving my point. You're here. Thank you.
  8. I agree. I think if he's traded, he won't be coming back. Just a hunch I have.
  9. A bad season tends to run off the bandwagon fans.
  10. That's a good point. I guess I am still hopeful we keep him.
  11. Lester, Herrera, Mookie, & WMB for Stanton? No thanks.
  12. He biggest thing I remember was the playoffs against the Angels. Henderson really made me go crazy! I thought the Sox were dead, and then KaPow! I felt great. (I was too young to feel the heart break of losing to the Reds, only being 7/8. I saw the sadness in my grandfather's eyes. Just resignation. He made me a Red Sox fan in a family full of Yankee fans.). Losing in the series in 1986, was my introduction to deep heartbreak. I was so fired up with Clemens/Hurst/Boyd. The wins in '04/'07/'13 all felt sweeter due to knowing what it was like to be apart of the curse.
  13. My wife gave me a trip to Fenway just a couple of years ago. It truly was like a pilgrimage. We stayed the week and seen the sights, and culminated in a game against Toronto. We sat down the Left Field line about 10-15 rows back. I loved it. Great view and just a great experience. We didn't stay in Boston, we stayed in a surrounding town. Drove in and parked in a garage and walked to the park.
  14. My Auburn Tigers are in the SEC championship game and now I hear we have resigned the Beard. Life is good!!
  15. Fvcking A!!! I am so glad the beard is back!!
  16. Very prophetic. Good call!
  17. Only if he doesn't get injured again. I used to call him Mr. Glass. No ill will toward him though. He wanted the big payday and the Yankees were in buying mode. Appreciative for what he did for the Red Sox.
  18. I am hoping Drew returns. I like his steady defense at SS and I think he works really well with Pedroia.
  19. I am in the camp of liking it when these threads get bumped. I was underwhelmed as a lot of people at the off season signings. I won't go so far as saying I will be eating crow, as I am usually in the camp of lets see how this plays out. I did think this was a bridge year to something better. Shows what I know. It serves notice that a signing that looks great in the winter, may not look good in the fall, (and vice versa..those signings that the GM made look brilliant now.)
  20. If that were true, why did my beloved Bruins lose to Chicago. Some people will belly ache about anything. We're World MF Champions!! They can deal with it. The Sox rule!
  21. Get it customized. It would be awesome.
  22. Gotta pull him. Great pitching performance, JMFL!!
