  1. Francona's actually my uncle. Promised to quit using tobacco if I open the GT.
  2. Played exactly 2/3 of a season in 2012, so I hope we rest him now and then, as long as we are able to pile up the wins without him, and keep him healthy for the postseason, as I believe this team can make it to October. Already has 16 RBI compared to last year's 56, as well as 15 hits (80 in 2012) so you could say it's been a good deal for the team so far. But surely nobody expected such an improvement from Victorino, coming off his worst year since 2006.
  3. I know, I just wanted to laugh when Carp hits it one more time. But watching Gomes strike out was funny enough, I guess.
  4. Just watched the game, so I imagine there's been a lot of talk about Carp around here. What exactly were they thinking replacing him with Gomes late in the game? A solid outing by Aceves, and I don't really blame him for the home runs, at least now Farrell knows not to push him to 100+ pitches again. Shame about leaving those loaded bases in the offense, though. A couple of frustrating series for Middlebrooks, but at least we're winning, so there's less pressure than usual, and hopefully he'll find his rhythm soon enough.
  5. Last night's win was pretty important, so it could help the team's confidence and make them concentrate on something other than our disadvantage on the mound (at least based on current stats). It would be great if we could mess up Masterson's plans early in the game, just like we did with Jimenez.
  6. I didn't expect them to respond so well to those defeats against Baltimore, honestly. The 'Hanrahan game' came while we were off to a great start, but the boys bounced back in great manner. Napoli's on fire this week, and it makes me feel so bad for the guy with all of his health issues. I hoped Yankees would be under .500 with this lineup, but I didn't expect Rays to perform so poorly either. With all the hype surrounding them, I never saw the Blue Jays as favorites to win the division, not even close. Dickey was never to repeat last year's performances, and with no Reyes around, everything above the third spot for them would be a surprise.
  7. That's it. A great start to the series, hopefully we don't mess up the pitching too much tonight.
  8. Jimenez didn't have much of a start he was hoping for in 2013, we better take advantage of that 6.97 ERA early in the game. Masterson (3-0, 0.41) tomorrow against Aceves (?) so let's go out there and get that win tonight.
  9. What a platoon, thank you, Mike.
  10. Bailey works fast, but doesn't seem to put much thought in what he's doing, no concentration at all.
  11. ...with no outs in the 9th.
  12. It was Tazawa in the bullpen back in the 6th (or 7th, whatever) but Farrell decided to stick with Dempster. So no Hanrahan today, hamstring.
  13. Uehara has been nothing but perfect so far this season. Shame they decided so strictly he would be a one-inning guy, but then again, better to have his three outs every day, than to have him on the DL.
  14. Well that looked silly.
  15. No matter how much Hanrahan messed up the Baltimore game, I think he should get the chance today. It's still early in the season, so better to show him the team has confidence he'll do well, instead of messing him up for the entire year.
  16. Yes! Now bullpen, please.
  17. It's obvious our batting order needs Iglesias, the opening week was a laser show with him in the lineup.
  18. Hopefully a good start for Dempster today, finally. It's 5:00 PM here in Europe already, so today's early game feels like a Christmas present, compared to watching games after midnight.
  19. you, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar
  20. KC leading. again? seriously?
  21. Hahaha, there goes the inning.
  22. McDonald, Sutton, Varitek, Cameron. for the love of god.
