    The thing that surprised me the most was the sac bunt and then the sac fly. I haven't seen those kind of fundamentals from a redsox team in some time.

    When most hitters go into slumps they tend to try to pull off the baseball, causing them to roll over outside pitches with weak ground balls to the short stop. You always know Papi is locked in when he starts hitting balls in the left centerfield gap. WMB is hitting the ball with power the other way so I will take it as a good sign.

    So you want to bring someone in, not up....but you want to call up Snyder from Pawtucket. WMB's problem was he was swinging at pitchers pitches early in the count, almost as if he made his mind up before the pitch was thrown that he was going to swing. Its pretty hard to be a successful hitter with a mentality like that. They pounded him outside until the caught him diving in, then they bust him inside. He seems to have built up a little patience these past few games. I think he will come around.

    Lackey had a sub 3 era coming into tonight's game. Where is the ass sucking? He had an inning with an excuse me swing double and a routine ball that clanks off the catwalk. Now if you want to address an issue, talk about our offense. I also refuse to listen to someone's baseball point of view that calls the bullpen a ballpen.

    Ive played ball from Tee ball all the way through College so I somewhat spectate the games from a players perspective. It absolutely pisses me off when the Sox can preform basic situational hitting. example: - runner on 3rd less than 2 outs...put the ball in the outfield, up middle, or right side of the infield. We either K or hit it to 3rd base. - Runners on 2nd with nobody out LH hitter up and we cant get the ball on the right side to move him over -missed sac bunts Its the type of s*** that makes me scream at the TV wonder how these guys make millions when they cant execute routine situational hitting. Tampa Bay has been so successful in recent years because they can execute. They are full of .250 hitters (if that) minus Longo, but when they get on base they do the little things to succeed and win ball games. Its the perfect complement to their excellent pitching staff.
