    I reall take his past numbers with a grain of salt. He was an inexperianced platoon player on a terrible team. He's only 26 years old, beautiful swing, and makes solid contact consistently. These aren't bloops or seeing eye singles. This kid can rake, along with his pretty decent plate discipline. I'm not putting all chips in his basket right now but if he continues to play like he has, it should be something to look into.

    Mauer has played over 100+ games every year except for 2011, he's played in 130+ games in every year except for 2011 and 07.

    When a team is losing. Anyone is available. Also, Joe Mauer has never been known for his power. He is a gap hitter who can spray it all over the park. He had one season where he hit 20+ hrs. He's also 30 years old which will almost certainly cut into a players appearances behind the plate now days.

    Why trade for talent when you have it right in front of you? I would rather not have Napoli back next year if Xander is ready for the show. That would give us a great YOUNG infield that we could build around for years to come. We can spend the money on talented arms, maybe a big bat corner OF...catcher? I also believe Ortiz has a few more great years left in him. The Sox have a great situation right now. I think we should all take a moment out of our busy schedules and thank the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for being the idiots that they are.
