  1. This one has been busted open, with what should be a decent, defendable lead, as we move into the bottom of the 7th.
  2. Nice one, Ellsbury. Great way to break up what so far has been lights out pitching from the very start by Cobb.
  3. That goes without saying. Am sure we all want the Evil Empire to lose as many games as possible over the remaining weeks & can see them dropping games. Really hope the O's can go on and win the division.
  4. Rays are 4 games back in the WC chase... Hopefully we can win the series and virtually put the Rays out of contention this week.
  5. Another day, another chance for redemption or another disappointment? Sox to open a 4 game series at Tropicana. C'mon Sox... Give us something to cheer.
  6. What would it take to get a genuine, top of the range ace? Not kidding around, someone of the quality of Verlander, King Felix, Halladay, Lee, etc? Not necessarily inquiring after these guys, but someone of that calibre.
  7. I go and make myself some dinner... return and find the Sox now trailing 4-0... After 2 wins on the spin it seems normal service has been resumed.
  8. Very strange move... Out of interest, does that count as an at-bat for Iggy or Nava... or both?
  9. Weird one, subbing Iggy out, with the count 2-2. Strange.
  10. Lester's pitch count is currently in the mid-50's... Morrow's is close to 100. That was pretty poor from Lester there though... an error & now 2 on & none out. Edit - nice way to work himself out of that jam though.
  11. Seem to be doing OK in getting guys on base... just not getting them much closer to home than 2nd. Shaping up as a real pitcher's duel.
  12. Yep... 19-20-21 June. In fact since then we have only won 3 or more on the trot once... When the Sox won 4 on the trot at the end of July, but that was 2 against the Stinkees & 2 against Detroit.
  13. Nice 1-2-3 inning - Promising start to Lester's outing.
  14. This could be the first series sweep since June, when the Sox swept the Marlins.
  15. Just the 3rd time the Sox have managed back to back wins since the end of July. A win tomorrow will make this the best run of form since then also, as we have not managed to win 3 in a row since then either.
  16. Big RBI double from Ciriaco. Needed that. Sox now up 3-2.
  17. Another quality start from Buchholz though... 7 IP, 2 runs. No one can accuse him of coasting. He still has his professional pride.
  18. Another inning of wasted opportunities, bases loaded... a sac fly would have been enough. http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/images/smilies/31.gif
  19. Comfortable 1-2-3 inning there by Buchholz. http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/images/smilies/50.gif
  20. Tied at 2-2 after 5... Buchholz did well to get out of that jam with bases loaded and just 1 out, even accounting for the errant throw from Jacoby.
  21. Lucky to recover from that sloppy play to tag out the runner at second, to finish the Jay's 1st.

  23. Is a sweep of the Stinkees asking too much? Let's go, Red Sox!
  24. After 23 years of waiting the families of the 96 Liverpool fans that died at Hillsborough on April 15, 1989 have finally been vindicated. New documents have been released, which demonstrated how the authorities sought to deflect the blame for the disaster onto the fans. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/9539293/Hillsborough-report-41-of-96-victims-could-have-lived.html Justice... at long last... for the 96 You'll Never Walk Alone.
  25. Perhaps... just makes it sweeter that it is the Sox that are doing the damage though, lol.
