  1. Unfortunately I see the 2011 and 2012 seasons coming with our current rotation. I like your optimism SFF, but we are f***ed up if we go like this. I want to eat my words, though.
  2. Maybe they can finish the ironman (and still have to see) but I doubt they can put the times/records that those who have won the competition. That is another think. In major sports of course you need a great athletic condition but IMO, you are nothing if you don't have those natural skills which are more important in order to succeed among the best in major sports. The same goes for those who practice the ironman. Very few can finish the competition. And very very very few can achieve those record times.
  3. Whata about those guys who makes the ironman? 42 Km running, 180 km riding bike, and 3.8 km swimming. Those guys are super athletes.
  4. I only hope he stays healthy next season, if so, he will be very nice to watch.
  5. Yup, our rotation is very thin as it is. I agree, it seems even thinner and with more questions marks than last year. At this point I'm not sure if out there's still something worthy. For whatever reason our FO has not been capable to address that issue. Yup, if we fail for 5th year in row, charge the blame to them... Again. They had plenty of opportunities to address the issue.
  6. Ells Victorino Peddy Napoli Ortiz WM Gomes/Kalish Salty/Ross Drew/Ciriaco It is not elite but could be very competitive.
  7. I literally imaged Napoli dancing Hey Sexy Lady When you go from a 30 M+ to 5 M the question is already answered. That hip is not ok at all. You jus gave Gomes AVV money to Napoli. I have understood that this contract has incentives and Napoli could end up making 13 M. IMO there's still fuel in that tank. In this case my friend I think Ben made a good job here from my outside-in view. On the other hand We are not set yet. We are still 1 arm away. Hopefully we could land that.
  8. While I think this Napoli thing is getting ridiculous, I bet every red sox fan will be very happy if he signs and has a monster year.
  9. This is becoming laughable. Geez!
  10. I'm not sure why people still defending this FO. It is horrendous. As the team is currently assembled, IMO we're a 4th place team in the ALE with the same 2012 payroll, unbelievable!. Lamentable execution by our FO thus far. Hopefully I eat my words. BTW, do not worry, we will be competitive in 2018 or so hahahaha ********!
  11. We passed on Buehrle, Gio, Jackson, Sanchez, Kuroda, and didn't push that much for guys like Johnson, Garza, etc. C'mon, those are good arms. People around here expect that the stars align and somehow we land a guy like Felix, Cain, CC, Kershaw, Doc, etc. in 2014 or so. IMO, Ain't happening. Unless we build our rotation from within -- which I do not like it cause gonna take another 3-4 years and be a loooong if so -- or start landing these type of arms and make us on paper more competitive and balanced.
  12. Hopefully BSN and others do not bother if I agree with this a lot. hell, if the pitching was/is the issue, and you are going to spend the money anyway, why in the hell not to address it in your priority #1. Sorry, I just do not get it.
  13. This goes to MVP too. It is just the way how we see the things. In the end, we all want that this team improves and be better. Hell, I just do not want to be a blank check again. Same about the decent conv. BSN.
  14. Thing is that you have a crystal ball and saying that a guy like Sanchez would have failed in Boston. Sure, he is a risk. Every player is, but jesus christ, at least try something regarding helping our pitching. BTW Who in the farm is better (and ready) than Snachez?... C'mon this guy cost what it costs since his numbers under his belt. Kids in the farm are just promises and I would treat most of them like trade chips in an organization like the Red Sox.
  15. Again, I would have gone all in pitching... but that's me, and yes... I would have gone after Sanchez and Jackson or Sanchez and Kuroda or traded for Johnson and Buehrle or Sanchez and traded for Garza or whatever, but I would have added 2 arms, but again that's me.
  16. C'mon... Sanchez is not f***ing Lackey. Anyway, I suggested an alternative, you didn't like it, fine. what would you do then...
  17. In my realistic glasses we are a 4th place team in the ALE next year as it is.
  18. At least you improve your pitching. Look at our current payroll, pretty much like last year, and what you got? a team which is projected to finish in the bottom of the ALE. Next year expect the same if you go with that mentality –Mediocre and overpaid short contracts at positions that are not even the main priority and ending up with a high payroll... again.
  19. I'm not talking 7yr/150 MUSD contracts or so...
  20. Sorry, I forgot we already have 3 King Felix in our farm just ready to make the majors.
  21. Ufff BSN, this is a looooong shot and certainly we are not TB.
  22. Smart moves? Like who? Or what?. Wait? How much more? finish last place again?. Do not take me wrong, I understand what you're saying BSN but IMO it is time to at least try something that department. Last year we should have, We didn't. This year we are even worst in that department and the panorama is not encouraging at all. Man, We haven't won a PO game in 5 years or so...
  23. That is the market and do not expect any different toward 2014 and further considering talent vs cost vs length of the contracts. It is what it is. It's a take it or remain the same piece of crap we've been in pitching. Hell, I do not know you but I see more question marks this year regarding 2013 pitching than 2012 rotation.
  24. You don't like Buehrle? Johnson? Sanchez? Jackson? Kuroda? Etc... Man, I don't know what you are realistically expecting or waiting for. Hammels, Felix, Cain, Kershaw, etc ain't gonna happen.
  25. IMO Sanchez is not a mediocre talent. Jackson probably is. But it is what it is. Problem is that "mediocre"/average talent cost you that amount money these days, it is a shame but it is what it is and it is what will be IMO.
