  1. The 2018 Red Sox will repeat next year weather you like it or not jacko, that’s the bottom line of this thread my friend
  2. Putting Ottavino and the Babe in the same sentence makes me puke. Ottavino is a bum. Quoting a recent twit of Bill James "What people don't get is that the difference between TEAMS is much less than the diff between PLAYERS, & the diff between LEAGUES is less than teams. So there is enormous improvement since 1927, but on the scale of LEAGUES. On the scale of PLAYERS it isn't nearly as large"
  3. He definetely will. I’m pretty sure he is working on this. I’m not worried. Also, probably it’s just me but Poyner will make a lot noise. I like the kid. Save this post.
  4. I’m not claiming I’m holding the true, it’s my opinion, as I said, we can disagree, no big deal. Said that... still The Red Sox will win it all again LOL!
  5. The 2018 Red Sox is the best team of all time, to me. We have basically the same team, and I highly doubt DD is done this offseason regarding the BP. We are the team to beat, and IMO 2-3 steps ahead NY. The way I see it, our rotation and offense are still the best in baseball.
  6. Yup, it’s still baseball. Said that, I feel very comfortable entreing into the season.
  7. .... and I’m not disputing that, because everybody know we were very good. If destroying the Yankees again as we did last year, can be called “by far”, I’d call it that way. I strongly believe based on what I assessed, could/will happen.
  8. This is when stats have to be taken with a grain of salt. As I said, they just dropped a month +, so stats, don't reflect the accurate picture —and still they were very good.
  9. LOL! I'm not backing it up with excuses. Just the opposite. Facts are all over my argument. I'm just pointing out that the Sox still have the edge —by far— to win it all again if they stay relatively healthy. As I said, we could have won 120 games easily. Geez A lot of people here included me complained at the time for dropping too many games that were very winnable in September—Again, Cora proved he was doing the right thing to win the WS. He proved us all we were wrong. If you can't accept that Cora managed in September without the winning mode button, there's nothing more to debate. Also, entering the POs, the apparently hottest teams were HOU and NY, and not BOS, but once again, BOS wasn't playing with all of its engines because they clinched the PO spot and the division very early, but when Cora pushed the winning mode button, you can see the results. We were way superior. Said that, we can disagree, no big deal. Time will tell though.
  10. Also.. we have an "intangible" weapon —Alex Cora. Alex proved when and how to push the right buttons. IMO he is the best manager of the game —not only regarding stats management, baseball fundamentals and technical concepts applied, but at mentoring and keeping the locker room with good chemistry as well with all those egos.
  11. They destroyed NY, HOU and LAD in the highest leverage situation you can fece and when it counts —in POs. Arguably this was the toughest path to win the WS of all time, when you look it backwards.Geez they literally destroyed Verlander, Severino and Kershaw, the last one twice. They destroyed NY´s and HOU's pens which everyone said at the time they were untouchables. Regarding pitching, Price performed like an ace in POs and was one of the best pitchers of the game in the second half of the season. Eovaldi perfomed like a Stud as well, his injury issues seem very gone —he threw several devastating 100+ mph FBs after 90+ pitches and with terrific command in many games. Porcello responded well when required, and the BP which was a mess entering into the POs, surprised everyone. Also, remember that the Sox played practically a month with half of their engines because the PO spot was gained very early, so Cora rest a lot of people in September. Sox could have won 120 games easily and the stats you are presenting would have looked ridiculous if they had gone in winning mode. Not to mention, we lost Sale like a month and E-Rod after a stupid injury when he was finally pitching like an ace. Said that, again... If the Sox stay relatively healthy, Sox will be the best team in baseball again, NOT EVEN CLOSE.
  12. While the Yankees, Astros and even the Dodgers fought, The Sox were way superior. Not even close.
  13. Offseason hasn't ended. I agree that DD has to throw the house through the window (or whatever you say it in english LOL!) but I'm confident he has all figured out.
  14. Well, last year people said that the Yankees were going to win the division as well and see how it ended up. We are practically the same team. Yeah, We lost Kimbrel and Kelly but I won't miss them at all. IMO Kimbrel is going to enter into a inevitable decline process and Kelly sucked most part of the season. Also, they cost a lot of money. Said that, if the Sox stay relatively healthy, and add a BP arm and/or someone become a solid closer & set-up arm, my money will be with the Sox again. If healthy, the Sox still have the best offense and rotation of the game. Not even close. The only concern is the pen which could go by committee if they don't add another arm.
  15. Sorry to hear that S5D. Actually I tried to buy at mlbshop.com in the first place because I thought that it should be safe and the service should be oks. A year ago I bought some jerseys at a web page which after a while I found out that was chinese as well —not sure if it is the same you are presenting, but the name sounds familiar. My order arrived but it took like 3 months. The reason? They send their stuff via the postal service and not a carrier like dhl, fedex, etc. Said that, IMO you still have chances to recive your stuff S5D. Good luck my friend.
  16. I placed an order like 2 months ago at mlbshop.com and it hasn't arrived yet. Their service is terrible. One day you speak with someone and tell you one thing and another they say you a completely different thing. Yes, the official web place of the MLB to buy things on internet. One day, they told me that my order was already shipped. After a while, since my order didn't arrive, I called them back again to track it, and they told me that they don't send to Mexico, and I said, WTF? (they told me that it was already shipped) and they told that my money was going to be refunded, and I said, it sucks but it's oks. A week after that, I noticed that my money wasn't refunded yet, so I called them back again, and they told me that it was going to arrive on December 20th which hasn't happened, of course, once again, I said wtf? (They told me that they don't send to Mexico) but I didn't have a choice but to wait. After that, I called them back again, and they told me that my shipment was going to arrive soon, so I asked for the tracking number and carrier, but they told me that they don't have/share that information, once again I said WTF? It must be joke! so I told them, you send a lot of things and don't have a way to track them? really? who the f*** runs this place? Today, they haven't refunded my money and my shipment hasn't arrived. It is literally in the limbo. Nobody there knows a goddamn thing about my order. Becareful, I just noticed that Mlbshop.com runs with the same platform of fanatics.com It's unbelievable that the official web page of the MLB that sell things works this way. A complete joke in my experience.
  17. Thanks Elk for your advise and recommendations, I'm taking notes. Regarding the tickets for the games at Jet Blue Park S5DEWEY is helping me to get them, and I think I'm going to buy the tickets for the away games via StubHub. Said that, hopefully we can meet there at least to say hello my friend.
  18. There's still a lot of talent there to just waste it. You don't know when you are going to be in this position again. Said that they will spend and will go with all cylinders and engines at full capacity to try to win it all again.
  19. Well, the Spring training is around the corner, and I want to announce that I'm officially attending to some games from March 13th to March 18th. I'm planning to go the DET, NY, ATL and TB games. I haven't been there and I have understood that it is an awesome experience. Also I have understood that some posters like A700 and others every year go, so if someone is attending these dates and games I'll be there and we may meet and share some time talking about baseball & the Sox while drinking a couple of beers. Said that, I want to prepare my trip, so aside the games, I will appreciate if you guys recommend me some things to go and do in Ft. Myers, like bars, restaurants, dinning, etc. I haven't bought the tickets for the games, so firstable, which seats do you recommend to buy? I'm going alone and probably with another friend but it's not sure. I'd rather a seat where the sun doesn't hit. I was planning to buy a seat at the green monster at Jet blue Park but probably the sun hits a lot there. I have no idea regarding the other 2 stadiums vs DET and NY. Two games will be at Jet blue park vs ATL and TB, other at Public Field at Joker Marchant St. vs DET and the other at GS field park vs NY —Wonder whether these parks are close to Ft. Myers. Once again thanks in advance for your recommendations and advise, and hopefully see some of you there.
  20. It’s plain crazy. An average top ten Ivy League graduate bearly make in his life 3-4 M. That’s a season salary for a lot of bad mlb players.
  21. Good vibes to you moon. Everything is going to be alright, you’ll see.
  22. I bet Harper and specially Machado don't even know what a 400 M figure is or mean LOL! I understand that the market is what it is but this is getting ridiculous.
  23. I have understood that they only measure their regular season performance.
  24. I don't like Allen. I'd rather Miller or Kelly.
  25. I'd do it in a heartbeat. IMO Eovaldi is in Porcello's quality tier if not better. Eovaldi is what, 28? If he commands 15 MX4, sign him already.
