Jesus Christ you people are reactionary. Bard and Doubie are kids, they're gonna struggle at times but the early returns have been beyond expectations. The A's have superb pitching so it isn't that surprising that our bats went cold for a couple nights. Also, I fail to see how we are in such dire straits because when I look at the three competitive AL East teams I see this;
New York:
Great lineup and bullpen
A rotation that has 1 great pitcher, 1 solid starter, 2 question marks, and an absolute piece of garbage
a rotation that also lost its biggest addition for the season
Tampa Bay:
Great all around pitching staff but an offense that is anemic and just lost its number 1 hitter for up to 2 months
Boston (i.e Us)
Rotation anchored by two top quality pitchers, a possible third if he gets his act together, and 2 solid young arms who've been very impressive thru the first month
A bullpen that started off horribly but is slowly regaining its bearings that can only go up from where they were with reinforcements on the way.
A lineup that despite losing the MVP runner up, their 142 million dollar left fielder, and having their MVP caliber first baseman struggle is still piling up the runs with the two injured players on the road to recovery and the 1st baseman too good not to hit like a superstar when he gets it together.
So tell me, how exactly are we in such bad shape as some of you are claiming?
