    McCarthy is smart. He's real sabermetrically inclined and I think he'd find a way to be successful here. Im not a ln advocate for signing him because of his injury history but I dont doubt he'd perform well enough if brought aboard.

    I think that our struggles might have intangible issues but I'd rather we address the talent issues first, a competent shortstop and a decent rotation should be our top priority.

    He's a young lefty who throws hard and strikes guys out. You're goddamn right he's a solid option moving forward. The kid crapped out around the Allstar break and "tired" is a viable argument considering he's dealt with injuries in the past and this is his first extended stretch in the majors. I don't think there's a person here aside from you who doesn't want Felix as a part of our future.

    It's early. The kid still needs time and no one here wants him on the team for his bat. If he can hold down the 9 hole with a .320 or so OBP and play GG defense, I'll be happy.

    Ehhh. That's a lot of money to commit so soon after we freed up all that payroll. I don't want to go near cliff lee. All that money for 3 years of a pitcher just don't jive with me. I honestly hope we don't do anything too big as far as acquisitions go unless it's like a king Felix type thing which is beyond unlikely. I honestly don't really know for sure what direction I want us to go in other than for BC to be smart and not throw money around left and right. I'd rather save up and build for 2014/15 when the kids are ready to make a difference.
