  1. That was an awful pitch to swing at.
  2. Ichiro and Overbay with hr for new York. I feel the overwhelming urge to microwave a puppy right now. How they f*** do those shitheels always do this?
  3. I love walks. They're so awesome.
  4. I wouldn't complain. Nava and Vic hitting one-two would provide a ton of RBI oppurtunities for Pedey, Papi, and Naps.
  5. I wouldn't bench him but I'd definately consider using Shane or nava in the leadoff spot for a while.
  6. I wonder if Farrel considers putting Vic or Nava in the leadoff spot if Ells' continues to have mediocre on base skills.
  7. Watching the mets game right now and the SNY crew is having a pretty intelligent conversation on sabermetrics. Theyre explaining BABIP, FIP, UZR, etc. I think it's good to see that saber stats are starting to bleed into regular game broadcasts. Ive always liked the mets crew, one of the best in MLB.
  8. It's okay, I'll let you ride my coat tails as the court jester.
  9. I will not have quarreling in my game thread, damn you.
  10. That's the idea. Another 7 gamer would be nice.
  11. What's Keith Foulke up to these days?
  12. This may be a tad early but f*** it anyway. Hard times have fallen upon the Red Sox nation, our noble band of heroes have stumbled to a 3-7 record in their last 10 conquests and have fallen into a tie with the denizens that populate the peasant laden kingdoms of New York and some toxic shithole called Baltimore. In these trying times, it has become necessary for your wonderful King, the great and fair BornToRun, to return you all to the great times he presided over in early April. A time in which the 25 man army we know as the Red Sox destroyed the opposition in beatings so spectacular that Rodney King was flinching at the blows from beyond the grave. A 7 game win streak stood as King BTR's greatest achievement when he took a leave of absence due to the tiring of his epic mojo. Now, he has returned to bring back peace, stability, and triumph to the kingdom. His mojo has regained its strength and is throbbing with excitement, ready to slither out from behind the zipped castle walls and impose its will upon the rest of the Major Leagues. All Hail the King!
  13. f*** it, nothing like a good old fashioned slugfest. I ain't even pissed. This one's getting won by the bats tonight.
  14. I actually think he can put up solid numbers this year. Like actually having a decent OBP. I was just thumbing through his stats the other day for shits and gigs and saw that in 2012, he made some noticeable improvement but what kept his numbers down was a BABIP that was around 40 points lower than in 2011 despite his LD% being better than in 2011. He also had an above average walk rate. I think he was better than he got credit for last year and I think this year's performance might be sustainable.
  15. Is it just me or did something look different about Salty's stance there?
  16. I. JUST. GOT. HARD!!!!!
  17. In all fairness, 2012 was the Bobby V year and I've always felt that we should just strike that one from the record and ignore its very existence in the interest of all our mental health.
  18. Well there goes my relatively even tempered mood.
  19. 2-0 already? How the hell is a shittastic bunch of irrelevant, useless to the point of they should've been aborted, pathetic losers beating us?
  20. I'm going to find Mother Nature, slit her throat, and then sip her blood from a golden chalice.
  21. Weather is seriously impeding my enjoyment of that rapetastic K.
