  1. I think Xander is safe but if I see Garin or JBJ's name anywhere near this thing as well as a few others, I'm going to be royally pissed off.
  2. I will lose my S*** if that's the deal.
  3. Going to be very upset if JBJ winds up going to Philly. I hope the reports about no trade coming down the line are true.
  4. Drew vs lefties. Ugh
  5. I get that and it's not that I'm willing to trade guys if it makes us better, I'm just not willing to give up 3-4 top ten guys to do so which is what it's looking like it'll take. And on your point about not knowing who will pan out, I agree with you that prospects are always a crap shoot but it seems, at least to me, that the sox have had pretty good luck with the top minor leaguers in our system turning into productive major leaguers. I'm talking about the big names only but looking back, I'd say our top Minor league talent has turned out better than the guys on other teams. Guys like Ells, Lester, Buch, Pap, and Pedey all making very notable big league contributions as well as WMB, Iggy, Masterson, Rizzo, Reddick, and others to a lesser extent. I could be way off base here but it seems like we've been pretty good judges of young talent as an organization and I like our chances of Xander, JBJ, Garin, and the like turning into solid contributors for the Red Sox in the future.
  6. I think there's one player in baseball I would go full on farm system clean out for. That's mike trout and that's never going to happen. Maybe Kershaw although big money to pitchers worries me.
  7. Agreed. If I'm BC, I make a low offer and tell Amaro that its the best he's gonna get from us. If he says yes then great. If not, shrug and move on.
  8. Stanton's injury history worries me. I'm not giving up our entire farm for just one guy in the middle of a transition period. I'm sure I'll get called crazy for this but my position right now is to make the top guys off limits and work with what he have in house if nothing is available for a low price.
  9. Agreed. We weren't suppose to be this good in 2013 and I'm not willing to deviate from the long term plan in order to maybe push ourselves over the edge this year. I think we have enough to make a run as is. Maybe I'd be more open if we were in a win now mode but when we're in a state of looking forward to the next few years after 2013, I'm not willing to give up a big chunk of our future for Cliff Lee.
  10. That's right. BTR Mojo is back and he's ready to f*** up some s***. I think it's about time we go streaking and take back the division lead that those jerkoffs from Tampa are keeping warm for us. Kick ass tonight and then for the next few nights in order to regain our rightful spot at the top of the east and also to further cement my status as the king of the gamethread mojo.
  11. Harold Reynolds is dreadfully stupid. I'm pretty sure I also heard him say that Erik Aybar on LAA should be off-limits. I could be mistaken, though. Also, is anyone else really amused by how much of a moron Ruben Amaro is? That guy just refuses to admit that his team is terrible and needs to rebuild.
  12. Amaro on MLBN right now. Says he thinks Lee isn't likely to get dealt and won't trade him unless he gets blown away. FWIW
  13. Really. I understand that Tampa is our toughest competition but we have beaten them quite a bit this year. Also, the run they are on now is completely unsustainable and it is undeniable that they will regress at some point. All we have to do is stay close until they inevitably fall back down to earth. I'm not saying we're guaranteed to take down Tampa but we've managed to have pretty significant success against them already and I think we have just as much chance to beat them as they have to beat us.
  14. Anything but Bogaerts? Not on board with that. He's getting older and is owed a s*** ton of money. I'm not interested in Lee unless he comes without giving up our top guys. I think Bradley should be off limits as well because bringing in Lee would probably make resigning Ellsbury very hard and a young, cheap replacement, especially one as talented as JBJ, could really come in handy.
  15. He actually had your respect to lose?
  16. Can't say I agree. Rash decisions like this are how we turn into a team like the Phillies themselves. Full of big contracts that no one wants and a poor farm system.
  17. Nope. Bringing in Lee makes keeping Ells much more difficult and having a cheap, productive replacement would help to make taking on Lee's contract a little more bearable. We would have a hole in center field if we gave up JBJ.
  18. Ken Rosenthal talking about trading Xander for Lee on MLBN right now. He's a certified f***ing moron.
  19. f***ing weird, man. I was just thinking whether to bring up Norris or not. Edit: Not sure if I'm too interested. Just looked up his numbers real quick and his numbers away from Minute Maid are pretty awful.
  20. Interesting idea. I wonder what the price is.
  21. Oh the horror!
  22. I definitely agree with all sentiment that says Xander or JBJ are total nonstarters.
  23. f***. Forgot about that.
  24. I'd be okay with Ranaudo. Any 3 of Ranaudo, Marrero, WMB, Workman, Brentz would be A-OK with me.
