  1. "Hi, I'm Ruben Amaro Jr. and welcome to Jackass!"
  2. Isn't he under contract after this year? Where would we put him long term?
  3. This just keeps looking better and better.
  4. Would you rather we raped our farm system for Cliff Lee?
  5. Speculation or did you hear this somewhere?
  6. I'm hearing Iggy as the main piece. Hope it's true.
  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/red-sox-white-sox-agree-to-jake-peavy-trade.html Welcome to Boston, Jake. Now we just need to hear what he cost us.
  8. I'm hearing it's done now.
  9. Giving up Iggy is something I'm totally okay with. Between Garin, WMB, Xander, and Marrero on the left side of the infield, I'd say we have more than enough depth to cover the loss. His defense is nice but he's got a weak bat. And even if he turns out to be a decent hitter somehow, whatever he ends up being worth probably won't touch Xander's level of productivity.
  10. Do it. If Iggy is the centerpiece, I'm more than fine with that.
  11. I know it's probably not worth much but didn't a report come out earlier that whatever was up with Peavy, JBJ wasn't involved?
  12. I'm not allowed to be pissed off by either scenario? Because I think I'm leaning in that direction. Hold on and let me verify.....yep, pretty pissed off in either scenario.
  13. Agreed. 2 middle tier guys is about as high as I'd go for him.
  14. Apparently we're in serious talks with Chicago in regards to Peavy. Anything more than a couple middle tier guys for him and it's a drastic overpay.
  15. I think people are selling Doubront a bit too short. Sure, he doesn't go as deep into games as we'd like but the guy's been nothing but solid for a while now.
  16. Well those people can go screw a camel for all I care. Making moves like this gets you into trouble. We were incredibly fortunate to have the Dodgers take on the full brunt of our 3 terrible contracts and with an amazing farm system, that trade has set us up for a potentially glorious future. I'm not willing to part with the potential of JBJ, Cecchini, Barnes, or any other of the top guys for 3 years of Cliff Lee when the current status of the Sox as an organization is transition rather than win now.
  17. I think we should offer WMB, Lavs, Bard, and Iggy to Philly and record the response as an experiment to discover how much of a moron Amaro truly is.
  18. I think we should just let it ride. Stay the course and enjoy the fact that we're this competitive in a year where we weren't supposed to be. I think the pieces are here to make a postseason appearance and once you get in, anything can happen. I hope Ben decides to stay on track and not to mortgage a big part of the future to increase the chances of short term success.
  19. I just saw news that JBJ was pulled due to a minor elbow injury.
  20. This is the same jackass that wanted us to give up Xander and then some for Lee so I'm gonna go ahead and ignore him.
  21. His plate discipline is so sexy and he'd be a perfect replacement for Ells in center.
  22. I'm aware of that but reports are that it's nothing to do with a trade and I'm very much hoping that's true. I can't I'd have much of a problem parting with Iggy if that is what Philly wants from us.
  23. Or we could hold onto them and wait for them to blossom into productive big leaguers and then when we're established as a yearly contender, we can start being more flexible with our prospects. We have some amazing talent in our farm right now and I'm not willing to give up a significant portion of it for 3 years of a guy who's approaching his late 30's.
