    So it's 8.22.13. We have a night off. And the September drama looks to be as good as ever. So, I thought it'd be cool to update your predictions today for the division winners, and see how things turn out.

    Just to be clear, I vehemently disagree with Middlebrooks moving to 1B as a long term solution. This would be more of an option until Napoli gets out of his funk, or until next year when we come down with Abreu.

    It almost makes you want to see how WMB can do over at 1B and stick Bogaerts at 3B, but then you're playing two players out of position. I still think Napoli figures it out and has a monster September. If he can figure it out, and WMB can continue to hit, and we can have Bogaerts at SS instead of Drew vs LHP, this team could do well against lefties. But that's a lot of 'ifs'

    Middlebrooks OPS when he was sent down: .617 Middlebrooks OPS after that HR: .716. It's amazing that he's raised his OPS by 100 points in 11 games

    Why? Napoli had a career 1.200 OPS at Fenway before we signed him. I'd rather just have Carp than to have to give up the prospects for Morneau. Besides, we don't need more LHH. We need RHH.

    When Buchholz comes back on around 9/6 or 9/7, that's where there's going to be a big discrepancy. And regardless, Lester Doubront and Dempster are light years better than Pettitte Hughes and CC. Hughes and CC have ERA's approaching 5. Lester and Doubront are sitting around 4. Dempster is about the same as Pettitte.
