    Please, please, PLEASE let the Yankees win the WC. I would LOVE for the Yankees to win the WC over the Rays. Then, on the off chance that Kuroda beats Darvish, then you've got CC and Pettitte going in the first 2 games of the ALDS. Give me that matchup over the Rays Moore and Cobb 100 times out of 100.

    The approach that they have is to grind out at bats, get to the middle relievers which is always the soft underbelly of any team, and make their move there. The problem is that when pitchers throw a lot of strikes, they don't increase their aggressiveness and are consistently falling behind in the count and having to swing at the pitchers pitch. That's where this team struggles, when a pitcher has the ability to throw strikes consistently.

    Well the Sox also get Buchholz (or for the immature crowd, Buttholz) back in the Rays series, and have Lackey Lester Peavy and Doubront going against the Yankees. Then Buch Lackey Lester against the Rays, and Peavy Doubront Buch against the Yankees. In that 10 game stretch, I expect the Sox to win 7

    This team, more than any other team I've seen, has the ability to look like absolute world beaters one day and then look like a team that couldn't take 1/3 from the Astros the next. The lineup is incredibly pitchable. That's the 11th shut out of the season. Nearly 10% of their games they're shut out. Just throw strikes and you can get out with 2 or fewer runs

    Where are they going to put Abreu?? DH? I think the Yankees will be a bit too preoccupied with Cano, and the need isn't nearly strong enough to justify outbidding teams that actually need him.

    Salty will likely get resigned, which means Lavarnway will likely get dealt this offseason. Basically the assumption that you've made here is that the Sox are going to go into 2014 with about 120mm in payroll. The Sox, defensively, will probably be Salty - Abreu - Pedroia - Bogaerts - Middlebrooks - Nava/Gomes - JBJ - Victorino - Ortiz. Rotation of Buchholz Lester Peavy Lackey Doubront Bullpen of Uehara Tazawa Miller Breslow Workman Bailey Britton Lineup of Bradley Victorino Pedroia Ortiz Abreu Nava Bogaerts Salty Middlebrooks To say that the above team is not a post season caliber team is silly. That's a 92+ win team, particularly considering the SP depth.
