  1. The Rays E# is 14 right now. If the Red Sox go 9-10 to finish the season, the Rays will have to go 16-4 to finish off the season to catch up. We're fine, a700. It's a bad stretch because we had bad pitching. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. Beckett's foot gives out, but it's just a bad sprain. Wakefield left with a 3 run lead, and Bard let up 5 runs, and then Aviles got gunned down. Miller gets shelled. It's typical, but we're fine.
  2. Lackey throws well against TB. Last outing, 6.2 IP, 3 ER. Quality start. And he goes up against Wade Davis. The Sox offense is head and shoulders above the Rays, so Lackey should be able to contain the Rays offense enough for a W here. Also, Wade has a 4.95 ERA over his last 3 starts. Against BAL, TOR, and DET. Hardly powerhouse teams. Anytime we trot out Lester, I count it as a win. So the Sox should take 2/3 this series. Oh. Also, the Rays have to face the Sox/Yanks 13 times in their remaining 20 games and are 6.5 games back. And with the Sox so close to the Yankees, there will be no scrub games, so the Rays will have to work for every win.
  3. Count me out of the "Panic" group. The Rays have 13 of their remaining 20 games against NYY and BOS. Excuse me for being optimistic here, but I just really don't see them picking up 6 games with 20 to play with that schedule.
  4. Whats up fellas? Been a while. Well, my wife got her job offer up in Boston, but I did not get mine unfortunately. Brutal. Anyway, we'll be moving up there in early 2012 (February timeframe). Really pumped. Wife got a tremendous job with 7 (SEVEN!!!) weeks of PTO. Unreal. Anyway, glad to see the offense starting to pick it back up. Maybe Wake will finally get 200 tonight.
  5. We didn't lose to the Yankees. We lost to the Red Sox. Anytime you leave 16 men on base and only score 2 runs, you're losing to yourself. That said, I fully expect the Sox to obliterate Hughes tonight.
  6. 16 LOB. Beat ourselves tonight.
  7. Aceves. 4 pitches. makes it look too easy.
  8. All of the Yankees pitchers looked bad tonight. The Sox offense just looked worse. Beating ourselves tonight. Horrible.
  9. this team doesn't deserve to win tonight. Not after the complete s*** performance they've had. 14 LOB now. f***ing pathetic.
  10. pedroia walk, ortiz bomb. i'm calling it. and i'm not wrong.
  11. did he just....did gonzo just lay off the....no, no it couldn't be
  12. He just absolutely cannot lay off the slider.
  13. Damn. Come on Gonzo. Make an adjustment here and do something big.
  14. 1.22, not horrible, but it doesn't matter about his BABIP. His BABIP is high because he doesn't allow HR.
  15. Damn Cervelli. Are you having a f***ing seizure back there? They'll check him. Chill out.
  16. Um. His strand rate is 88.1%. And his HR/9 is 0.17. And his HR/FB is 2.9%. But no, he's not lucky.
  17. I hope so bad that CC comes back out. Please come back out.
  18. Better than any conversation ever had with you, so yes.
  19. He was due for some luck against Crawford, but that's about it.
  20. Why don't you wait for your 6th inning guy to come out. Facing the top of the order isn't exactly easy. And didn't Soriano just get roped by the Orioles? Thats kind of what I thought.
  21. Sox are 1-7 with RISP and have 9 men LOB this game. Sabathia got lucky as s***.
