  1. Hey I do too! Where are you sitting?
  2. Another overblown story. Just like beer and chicken. They interviewed Cody Ross the other day on WEEI and he was saying "That's present in every clubhouse". People are just pissed off about September, and rightfully so, but they're taking out every bit of anger on Beckett. The whole beer and chicken thing is just something for people to pile on. And the same thing is happening with this. Who freaking cares if he went out and played golf. Yes, it probably wasn't the best thing he could have done, but who cares. Maybe he was feeling a bit better and thought he may be able to stretch it out a little. Maybe he was playing in a scramble and only chipped and putted. Nobody knows this s***. And ya know what the worst part is?? How many of you have ever called out of work "sick" and gone and done something you wanted to do (i.e. golf, just relaxed, whatever), but regardless, you weren't sick. By no means am I justifying that or saying that it's any less reason to be pissed, in fact, if he did fake the injury, there would be indescribably more reason to be pissed at him, BUT... Don't be a hypocrite. Everyone has done it. Yes it's ********. Yes it's ridiculous. Yes I'd be pissed too. But nobody can say a word because everyone has done the exact same thing. And don't say "But he's making all this money" because it's the principle, and if someone who was making less than you was judging you for this, you would say the exact same thing.
  3. The problem with this opinion, and it's really frustrating, is that people who buy into this old school, play injured style of baseball is that if you want a guy to play with a subluxed shoulder, he goes out there and he struggles and he sucks and he hits .160 and can't play defense, and then the same guys who bark about how Yaz never hit the DL are the same ones screaming about how he sucks. PA and what is he doing out there. The game is a lot faster now and the talent level is significantly better than it was 40-50 years ago. You can't compare the players today with the old players. I read the other day that if the 2012 Astros would absolutely crush the 27 Yankees because those days there was no such thing as a curveball and the pitching is lights out better. You just can't compare innings when people were throwing 360 innings a season, or what people were able to play through in the old school baseball days.
  4. He just laughed at the proposition of Middlebrooks to outfield on his interview with WEEI. And Gammons is on 98.5 right now saying that they don't need to send WMB to the OF because he's the future 3B and they have a lot of ground ball pitchers.
  5. Happy Birthday YOTN!!! Hope you have a better birthday than my last one. September 28th birthdays suck. :thumbdown
  6. Yeah. Bradley is absolutely cruising right now. He's a beast. Hitting .375/.498/.583/1.081 so far in 120 PA. That's pretty incredible. EDIT: Make that a .502 OBP on the year. Incredible. It really is.
  7. According to Valentine, Ellsbury has started to do agility drills, which is apparently the next step in the program. Jackso - Do you know what kind of a rehab program one would go through with a subluxed shoulder? Agility training is obviously going to be an early stage step, but what kind of a timetable would we be looking at here? Originally, I remember a 6-8 week timetable was discussed. This Saturday will be 4 weeks from the date of the injury. So are we looking at a late May, early June return to baseball activities? June 2nd would be 7 weeks from injury. Add a week of rehab games, and he could be back by June 9th. That'd be a big boost.
  8. Not at all. This is actually one of the easier losses to swallow that this team has had. The game never felt in hand.
  9. Wow. That was quick. What a bitch, Albers.
  10. Games not over. Broxton is no sure thing by any means.
  11. Bard should have been out of this game as soon as the 1st runner reached.
  12. Franceour is one guy I have always wished would come over to the Sox. He rakes vs LHP and he's got an absolute cannon.
  13. Shoppach is a bit of a brick wall. I wouldn't lower my shoulder against that guy.
  14. Wow. That's a momentum changing type of inning.
  15. That's how you block the plate!!!! ATTA BOY GONZO!!!
  16. Time for a K here Bard.
  17. Bard had that bad inning, but he's been extremely efficient. He could go the distance.
  18. He's been working into a lot of hitter counts, and he's worked back from 0-2 and 1-2 into 2-2 and 3-2 counts. It's just something that you learn on the go in the big leagues.
  19. Just his left hammy again. Likely just a cramping situation like it was the other day. Eat a banana and drink some water, he'll be fine tomorrow.
