  1. Has anyone seen Gonzo's Post ASB numbers?? They are absolutely ridiculous. Coming into tonight, he was hitting .392/.435/.608, 5 HR, 21 RBI in 21 games since the ASB. He had 6 HR the entire 1st half (86 games).
  2. Hey. Remember when everyone was all "No chance that Crawford should replace Nava"? Yeah. I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I have always backed Crawford. Contrary to popular belief around here, talent doesn't just fall off a cliff out of nowhere.
  3. Cherington wouldn't say that Valentine would finish the season. He said "i'm not going to put a timeline on it". I think that's extremely telling.
  4. Holy Christ, Cook. Can you throw a fastball more middle middle?!?!
  5. Kalish played the RF wall well there
  6. I'd take the over on 3.5. The thing about Cook - He doesn't just give up 1. He either gives up 0, or he gives up 3+.
  7. Crawford should go ahead and get his surgery so he's ready next year. What a depressing summer. Absolutely brutal. Bogaerts went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 3 runs tonight. He's now hitting .301/.377/.504 now in high A Salem. At least we have that.
  8. This is exactly why the Red Sox aren't making the PS this year.
  9. well. the sign w a runner on 2nd is the sign after 3 fingers.
  10. Kapsis is about to post something like "Ah c'mon Doubront, don't let them tie it up!!!"
  11. Wow. That just happened.
  12. Pedroia obviously going to come up big here. Ho hum.
  13. Wow. 2nd pitch to Lavs was easily a strike.
  14. Wow that was absolutely horrendous.
  15. Wow. That's all I can say. Just wow. Been an absolutely s***** night. I turn on the game, at least it's 5-1 Sox. Then I check my phone. And Doubront has completely s*** himself. What the f***. That's absolutely ridiculous.
  16. 8 IP, 3 ER is just ok for Lester. I was happy with his outing because of how he's thrown this year, but if it was Buchholz out there that allowed 3 earnies over 8 IP, I would be much more "meh" over it. Lester has not been a good SP by any means this year, but it's also been exacerbated by the fact that he actually is getting unlucky via his BABIP (.324) and his strand rate (63.8%). I'm not sure if he can do anything to correct these problems, or if they will just normalize over time. I do know, though, that the 3rd run that was scored last night was on a change up about 4 feet outside that Doumit likely didn't see because he looked like he was flailing at a pinata with his eyes closed. Still, though, there's no excuse to not beat the Twins who are throwing a journeyman at you.
  17. Seriously Ellsbury. Pull more balls into the ground.
  18. i don't know whether i want to cry into a pillow or throw my computer through my tv, then my tv out my window, and then jump out of my window down 15 stories.
  19. dude. i'm not saying they're good because they beat verlander. I'm pointing out how they beat the best pitcher in the game 2/3 times, and lose to complete s*** bottom-of-the-dumpster pitchers consistently.
  20. I still think the Sox will put up 4-6 against this Twins bullpen.
  21. Beat Verlander 2/3 times. Get shut down by any pitcher who can't throw more than 90.
  22. I'd love to see Lavs stay up here. He's hit both balls today on a line, and also taken a walk. He's always going to have a really high OBP (.360+), which is what this team needs to get back to.
  23. 101 pitches through 6 IP isn't exactly cruising. It's pretty pathetic, though, that the Sox can't even muster a couple hits. But they've hit the ball right on the nose quite a few times and have nothing to show for it.
