  1. 9-4 Sox. This is exactly the kind of lefty the Sox should obliterate (the talentless kind). Pair that with a horrible bullpen and it could be a drubbing.
  2. So.....I guess I'm temp banned from game threads. :dunno:
  3. Yanks getting thumped, again. Their middle relief is putrid.
  4. I agree his walks absolutely crushed him yesterday. Mainly because he didn't have any FB command, a pitch that he's historically had great command of. I think he threw less than 50% of his FB for strikes. Can't be doing that. We'll see. Cut down on the walks, which his career shows that he's got good control, and he'll be fine. I'm encouraged by the outing.
  5. I'm not taking anything away from the Yankees last night, just thought this was interesting. This is Fenway Park overlayed on top of Yankee Stadium: http://www.hittrackeronline.com/overlay/overlay_1365163849_422074682.jpg If the Sox game last night was played at Fenway, I would guess the Sox win that game, as Gardner's ball doesn't go out and Ross's is at least a wall ball double. Then again, if the Sox played game 1 at Fenway, Cano's blast to LF would have been gone too. Just funny to think about how the MLB is the only sport (outside of golf) that has different dimensions at every park.
  6. Dempster's strike zone plot from last night: http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/cache/location.php-pitchSel=133225&game=gid_2013_04_04_bosmlb_nyamlb_1&batterX=&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=.gif Like I said last night, he did not throw many pitches in the middle at all. He was living on the edges quite a bit. Two of his runs last night came from this: http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/cache/location.php-pitchSel=133225&game=gid_2013_04_04_bosmlb_nyamlb_1&batterX=16&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=3.gif He threw a pitch 4 inches outside that Overbay closed his eyes and blooped into the right spot. He threw much better than his line. He threw 73.9% of his first pitches for strikes, which is an astronomical number. He also had 14.9% swing and misses, which is also extremely high. 8 K's in 5 IP is crazy good. He got beat by a broken bat single (Hafner) one bad pitch (Nunez) and a close-my-eyes-and-swing blooper (Overbay). Oh, and the 312 foot homerun to Gardner that would have been a flyout at Fenway.
  7. Wow, a cutter that doesn't even make it to within 4 inches of the plate. That's a ridiculous call
  8. You not watch last night?
  9. Iggy getting good at those push bunts.
  10. Wow you going to be negative about the team all season or just every post tonight?
  11. Here comes the bomb.
  12. Can't wait for you to see the Brooks graph. He's been living on the black.
  13. No worries fellas. Sox will pop a 2 run HR next inning.
  14. He's 25 in PED years.
  15. Meh. Not worried. We will get to him
  16. Not terrible. Jam shot to Hafner, blooper to Overbay, one hard hit ball. That's the breaks.
  17. Up, yes. Middle, no.
  18. Couple bloops. Not awful. Get out of it.
  19. There ya to Willie!!
  20. Oh where have I heard this before. Though he has made noticeable adjustments to his discipline.
  21. Nice rebound there after the lead off walk. CS really help out so much.
  22. Pettitte is going to get hit pretty hard.
  23. That was a bang bang play. Better chance of scoring that way than of Gomes getting a knock.
