  1. End Of an Era The Curse of Tito Dead Men Walking(or not walking like they used to) Sayonnara Bobby
  2. He will probably never be an MVP again but is still a gold glove caliber 2nd baseman, hustles on every play and is hitting .280 despite playing with a hurt thumb and hitting out of postion(3rd) a lot this year. Unless he gets hurt againn no reason why he shouldn't have 3-4 really good years(.290-.300) while hopefully batting 2nd in the lineup. With his recent injuries i don't see him having extremely high trade value (even though he is an excellent player)
  3. I would trade Punto for a bucket of balls- better yet i would trade him and give up a PTBNL just for someone to take Punto off our hands.
  4. Now they just need to do the same to Aviles and see what Ciriaco or Iglesias can do for a couple months.
  5. If Middlebrooks and Ortiz were healthly i might say yes -without them no chance
  6. While he seems to be universally hated among the media and fans there is that possibilty that a healthy John Lackey could be a decent pitcher again. Im thinking they try to unload beckett and go with Bucholz Lester Doubront Morales Lackey (this doesn't seem great but look around the AL east -besides the Rays this could be the 2nd best starting staff IF everyone is healthy) Ideally i would like to see Garza in there with Morales as a swing guy If you did that Bucholz Lester Garza Doubront Lackey Morales Aceves Bailey Miller Breslow Tazawa Mortensen, Atchison or Wilson from the Pawsox to fill things out Not the perfect staff but should be the pen would be a strength. Time to cut Ortiz loose-injury prone but more than that with interleague play all year i don't want to have an important september game in a NL park where my 4 hole hitter can't play lineup Crawford LF Pedroia 2b(not a 3 hole hitter) Ellsbury Cf(see if he's worth the millions he'll want) Gonzalez 1B Ross RF Middlebrooks 3b Lavarnway C Mix and Match Dh (use Lavarnway and Ross sometimes) Iglesias SS (now or never and this could give us best defensive if in the AL) Bench Shoppach Ciriaco Kahlish Rh OF bat Rh 3b-1b type bat i'm getting rid of Beckett ,Punto, Salty, Sweeney,Ortiz- i'm hoping somehow we can spin this into Garza without depleting the farm
  7. Almost to the point of turning off the Red Sox and listening to the Sea Dogs for good. Bradley , Boegarts, and Bentz gotta be more exciting than Posednick, Shoppach and Aviles. Boegarts just made a nice play from the hole-maybe he could give Aviles some pointers-nice throw into the stands last inning by Mike by the way
  8. Pedroia ,Ellsbury,Lester and Barnes for King Felix and Ackley-How about it?
  9. Not sure about next year but after sept 1 i want this to happen Crawford gets his surgery C-Lavarnway 1b-Gonzalez 2b-Pedroia ss-Iglesias 3b-Middlebrooks cf-Ellsbury lf-rf combination of Kalish-Linares and Ross Dh- Ortiz Ciricao playing 3-4 times a week subbing at 2b-ss-3b Not much you can do with the rotation-just don't wear out Morales,Doubront ,Aceves or Lester(like it or not we have to count on these guys next year)
  10. Why? The season is over. Kalish may or not be the future RF so why not see what he can do the rest of the season.
  11. Josh Beckett has made me temporarily forget what a bad signing Crawford was but........he did get us a World Series so let's not forget about that
  12. Sounds good to me but doubt the Angles would do it unless they got something else also
  13. Nava served his purpose. He did an admirable filling in when the team was decimated by injuries. Since it doesn't look like he could play Rf or Cf don't see a future for him with the Sox. probably wind up with a good tem next year(like Oakland)
  14. Knowing Management if they get another pitcher they will probably just send Doubront to the pen or maybe AAA) . While i'm kind of being sarcastic this wouldn't surprise me-just ask Franklin Morales
  15. If he's healthly leave it up to him. We are not going to the playoffs anyway so to me it's not about wins and losses it's about him turning it around for next year(with Iglesias at SS Lavarnway catching and Pedroia , Ellsbury, Crawford and Bailey healthy)
  16. Better -yes but i still think with the game on the line Ortiz was a little better.
  17. I'm 44 so i will pick from players i have seen. One game i'm going with Pedro Martinez and if i had a #2 David Ortiz(in his prime can you think of someone more clutch?)
  18. Gomez just got sent to AAA Probably because Punto was too valuable to part with.
  19. Why not? Nothing against Gomez but if he's a top prospect good enough to fill in last year and even catch the most important games of the year why isn't he the DH for the next 10 games?
