  1. If i were the Sox i would offer Cecchini,Owens,Kelly,Coyle and Margot OR Devers. Maybe substitute Johnson or Rodriguez for Kelly if they wanted. It is a lot but it would allow us to keep Swihart,Betts and Bogaerts and some pitching and younger prospects.
  2. Brentz- (if one of our OF's go down) Vazquez-(if /when one of our catchers go down) Ranaudo-(if/when we need another starter)
  3. No need i was being sarcastic(plus no one with Simon Templar as his avatar would need to apologize to me anyway)
  4. Well a lot of people blasted me for starting this thread. Glad to see it was Dell instead of Middlebrooks but i knew they wouldn't keep them both.
  5. I don't care either but do you really think the Red Sox will want to deal with the distraction? Like i said in the OP they are single adults and i am not saying i blame them. I just think it would be extremely awkward in the clubhouse and don't see how management will want them "together'on the Red Sox next year.
  6. Not trying to turn this into gossip hour but in light of the Middlebrooks /Jenny Dell relationship i don't see how he is on the team next year(unless she goes to another network.) Not trying to tell him who he should date but can't see how ownership could be comfortable with the sideline reporter dating the 3rd baseman. I realize they are both single adults i just think one of them will be gone.(from my perspective i hope it's Dell)
  7. Haven't thought of full roster but the lineup i have here offensively should equal last years(even with JBJ in CF with WMB and Xander all year at ss/3b i think that should = Ells,Drew and 3rd base last year. Slight downgrade at ss defensively but OF should be at least same and catching should be better Vs righties 1.Victorino 2.Pedroia 3.Ortiz 4.Napoli 5.Nava 6.Xander 7.Pierzynski 8.WMB 9.JBJ Vs lefties 1.Victorino 2.Pedroia 3.Ortiz 4.Napoli 5.Gomes 6.Xander 7.WMB 8.Ross 9.JBJ I would say maybe resign Carp and get a solid utility infielder and as long as the pitching holds holds up it's playoffs again. Need Napoli big time though.
  8. Very surprised. Lot of money though. Question -if Cano played his whole career with the Mariners and put up the same numbers would people consider him to be the star many consider him now? I would rather have Pedroia on my team anyway
  9. I think Boegarts or Middlebrooks would provide an upgrade over Holt or Snyder.
  10. Does anyone think Cecchini will be better than Middlebrooks?
  11. There was a program on MLB network that considered this to be the greatest single season pitching performance in MLB history.
  12. You mean your are not counting the days before we get to see Stephan Drew and Johnny Gomes take the field? (i just started the thread )
  13. Pedro 00? Clemens 86? Williams41? Yaz67? Rice 78? I am sure there are more Personally i am torn bewteen Yaz & Pedro
  14. Wish he would have ended up in Boston but overall i think it's great for baseball when a smaller market can keep one of their own,
  15. Maybe someone should start a new thread Greatest single season by a red sox ever? Yaz 67 williams 41 & Pedro 00 would be 3 that come to mind
  16. While i don't disagree with what 700hitter said about Yaz to me most significant and greatest are not the same thing. For a team like the Orioles for example Cal Ripken probably the most significant player. But i don't think was as great a player as Robinson,Palmer or Murray. While this was not the original question i will say this when most people think Red Sox- Williams & Yaz are the first names that probably come to peoples mind.
  17. While undoubtedly 1978 was one of the greatest years ever by a Red Sox i think for their entire careers Evans was a little better than Rice & may rival Yaz. Several gold gloves and arguably the best hitter numbers wise in the 80's. Don't get me wrong i like Yaz and Rice but i think people tend to get caught up in the one unbelievable season each had (yaz 67 Rice 78) so for me Williams Pedro Clemens Manny(0 titles in over 90 years without Manny & Papi that has to count for something) Ortiz Evans Yaz Rice
  18. How about worst of all time Nava,Byrd & Ross
  19. Great sign off on the planet Mikey show last night. "everbody have a good night" unless you're ray lewis or arod
  20. Not much as i don't have the answer but my guess it is Yaz
  21. I like the Yankee fans idea myself(did i just say that?)
  22. Agree 100% the sox could be good if these guys do their job The. Orioles almost won the division last year.who has more talent the 2012 L's or the 2013 sox?
  23. Maybe so but when you have an older team there seems to be a higher risk of injuries
  24. Remember 2 years ago and the best team ever? I think that Sox team had more potential/hype than this years Jays. I say Tampa Bay but who knows?
