  1. The Cano and Teixeira show. Goliaths up 3-1.
  2. Gardenhire likes to mess up late in the game against the Yankees. I predict him putting in Scott Baker in a big spot.
  3. Sabathia's getting an awfully generous strike zone tonight.
  4. Hudson! Great play catching the Yankees out of position and taking third. If Sabathia wasn't 300 pounds, maybe he could have made it to first.
  5. The New York Davids are putting together a little rally here.
  6. CUDDYER! Twins are quickly on top 2-0.
  7. http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/05/man-bites-dog-yankees-are-underdogs/ more or less outrageous than when he said yankees fans resent him becuase he's multiracial and too good looking?
  8. i think we have a very real need to add another starter this offseason/address the back of our rotation. i'd do that before we pick up another outfielder. i think beckett will have a better year next year but i'm not so sure about lackey or daisuke. if an outfielder gets hurt at least we have plenty of depth at th eoutfield positions and we coulde isnert someone like kalish, nava, reddick or mcdonald if we sign him. not so for our rotaiton. it's inevitable that one of our starters will get hurt during the course of the season and i don't want tim wakefield starting 20 games for us again next year cliff lee would be tremendous and if we got a team to eat half of daisuke's salary, trading daisuke and signing lee would only be a $16 million hit to our team salary, but there are other options out there that are at least worth considering like Erik Bedard, Jake Westbrook, Hiroki Kuroda, Bronson Arroyo or Justin Duchscherer. obviously not everyone's going to like all of those options and i'm sure someone's just going to dismiss my entire point here by saying something like bronson arroyo sucks but oh well
  9. if lee continues to pitch like this, the rangers could go all the way. it would be interesting to see him face halladay in the world series
  10. or look at what they did in 2003/2004 offseason after 2003 ended badly if you need more convincing. more likley than not, there's going to make a big splash in free agency this year and they'll probably make a big trade as well
  11. i pay very closely to how the front office operates which is exactly why i think they'll be willing to overpay a bit for big name free agents this year. if you don't believe me, look at what they did the last time they missed the playoffs. they bid $50 million for daisuke matsuzaka, they signed jd drew to a 5 year/$70 million deal, they signed julio lugo to a 4 year, $36 million deal, etc. and everyone was saying they're just as bad as the yankees i don't expect them to increase payroll much this year, they don't need to with $70 million coming off the books. but the ownership is commited to putting a team out there that's a perennial world series contender and they've made it clear that they weren't happy with the results this year and will do better next year they're going to spend serious dough this offseason, just watch
  12. yes probably have to change it's name if it's going to be like tbs. it doesn't make sense for people to turn into the yankees entertainment and sports or whatever it's called to watch friends. i don't see it
  13. i agree, we won't be priced out of anyone this offseason. the front office will pretty much be able to pick up anyone they want and hopefully they learned their lesson with the teixeira debacle. it should be a fun offseason
  14. haven't they had the best record in the american league since he went down in early july? this is old news and to suggest the twins have no chance without him is a bit of a stretch
  15. how dare we be excited about the red sox on a red sox forum. we should be ashamed
  16. lowrie had one wrist injury, that's hardly enough to call him fragile. i think he's a very exciting young player and shortstop could be a great source of strength for us next year if lowrie hits anything like he did this year, he'd easily be the best hitting shortstop in the american league
  17. the yankees and rays will do nothing but improve and the red sox will miss the playoffs for the next 100 years
