    I think Hermida was only brought in to improve his overall value and try to trade him to a team in the offseason for prospects. But yeah, no f***ing point in replacing a guy who's batted roughly .290 or so in his MLB debut with a guy who can't field or hit very well...

    When Youkilis retires, we shall build a statue to salute his efforts and contributions for the Sox. And it will be a glorious one.

    Although he's been pitching in the AL his entire career, it is quite a change to be pitching in the AL East compared to the AL West. I'd like to think that his less than stellar numbers could be attributed to this transition. I think that he'll be better later in the season or at the latest next year.

    Apparently this isn't going to be our year. Does anyone know what the record is for number of injured players/DL trips in a season? Just curious.

    Varitek to the DL with a broken foot. Out 6 weeks. Son of a bitch! Someone either pissed of God or a yankee/rays fan has voodoo dolls of our players. At this rate, this thread's gonna have 500 pages. Oy.....

    Apparently Pedy won't need surgery or pins in his foot, so that's good to hear. Estimated timetable is 4-6 weeks. Also, V-Mart's injury doesn't seem bad enough to warrant a DL stint, so Tek will be filling in until he's ready. They'll probably break V-Mart back into the lineup in a week or so as DH, ala Posada.

    Seriously though, someone needs to address these ridiculous NL rule problems to Selig, just as everyone is upset with a lack of instant replay for questionable/close calls by umps. NL rules SUCK! It's a f***ing disgrace to the game to see a guy like Jon Lester or Cliff Lee step up to the plate. Most times, when a pitcher steps up to bat one of two scenarios unfolds: 1)They bunt; 2) They just stand there. It's not cool, it's not entertaining, and it has a negative impact on AL clubs in particular. This issue MUST be addressed.
