I feel sorry for Mattingly - he's done, it's only a matter of time once the owner has to come out and say his job is NOT in jeopardy. Would actually be better to do it now than let it drag on all season. Not that I think it's the right decision, but a scapegoat has to be found.

The right side of .800 OPS but nowhere near enough power for the $$$ - plus, as he ages he becomes a very expensive DH who, like User Name notes, is injury-prone. If Minnesota were willing to consume a huge percentage of the contract, I wouldn't say no, but that puts them in a bad spot financially and with their fanbase. I'm just glad Lee didn't sign with the Yankees after how those animals treated his wife.

I regularly donate to Red Cross, as well as some specific disaster relief funds. I really don't think people would have complained if Kemp donated nothing, though someone would undoubtedly bring up the Oklahoma connection and knock it, but sorry, when you make $20million a year and restrict your donation to $1K per HR (AND only to the ASG), when you've only hit 2 so far....that doesn't look so charitable. I'm not saying he has to match Durant, but doing it this way makes him come across as super cheap and perhaps not cognizant of the pressing need for funds right now.

Just give a flat donation right now, when the money is needed most. Also, cutting it off at the ASG just makes him look extra cheap.
