  1. Let's see if KC can repeat, I pick the Guardians to win the central. They have the best rotation by far in the AL. Good position players as well.
  2. They came back 4 times to win that WS. Game 6 vs the Astros, and the Mets closer blew 3 world series saves, unheard of. Lucky Royals probably won't do that again. That rotation sucked huge balls.
  3. July 4th, bring the fireworks.
  4. There's only one in this division, and he plays for the Red Sox.
  5. These aren't cup of coffee guys like Rasner. I barely remember him, was he teammate of Sidney Ponson?? The Yankees 2008 rotation was pure comedy one after another.
  6. Our bullpen is an x factor, we've gone from the worst BP to a top 4. This is a boon for the rotation.
  7. Only in the spring and summer man. I've been living here since 1993, winters are hell dude.
  8. Welcome to TalkSox. yes I bleeping hate some of those stuff, Wally, Sweet caroline, idiots that hackles, and I also hate challenge/replays. They're a wrench in the machine.
  9. You just need 1 guy to overachieve behind Price. That might be enough to win the East. I'm counting on E-Rod and even Clay to do that. Kelly needs to be consistent, and be a good back end starter with potential for more. I'm not sure if any teams has a 5th starter who has a 100MPH fastball.
  10. just how great has Beltre been after leaving Seattle? He average 6WAR+ during that time, and receives a modest 5/80M contract. What a steal. Plus he is also a great clubhouse present, a guy who enjoys this game and never taken it for granted. I love his style of play.
  11. Brock Holt isn't as starter, has no power to play a corner position. He doesn't hold up for a full season either, fading mid season everytime. I don't like the makeup of this corner IF, two of the worst defenders is quite hard to overcome. They should have sign Beltre as their 3B, he is clearly the best 3B over the last decade, and continues to be remarkably good. Power/defense, that's Beltre.
  12. pablo loosing weigh is a f***ing cliche at this point. It has become a satire.
  13. It's kinda early for in best shape of my life headlines.
  14. (via MLB.com) Red Sox, Tazawa reportedly come to terms Right-hander avoids arbitration with $3.375 million deal
  15. MLBTR projection Kelly 3.2M Tazawa 3.3M Ross 1.1M
  16. Rob Bradford ‏@bradfo 50m50 minutes ago Per source Joe Kelly and Red Sox have come to terms on a one-year, $2.6 million agreement, avoiding arb
  17. Looks like the class of 1999 list man. Questionable in most of them.
  18. I feel Price, E-Rod and Porcello will carry the torch in the rotation, each tossing 200 inning. I the case of E-Rod, he is only 23 so he might have restriction. Price is paid as an ace, he will perform to a low 3ERA, adjusted for Fenway and division. Porcello was a 3.50ERA 8.8K/9 4.70K/BB starter last 2nd half last year, I'd be happy if he sends up around 4.00 with 200 inning. E-Rod is the wild card, he was brilliant outside a few disastrous games. He has the highest upside and can only improve. I like Kelly. That 8 straight win was something either happen in a vacuum or just an overdose delusion. I predict he will make roughly 28 starts and toss 150 inning. 4.25ERA, he will get wins because the bullpen will help out our stater significantly with the additional 2-3 set up man to bridge the ball to Kimbrel. Clay, just anything out of him is better than the 5th starter. Huge upside. A pest. The game changer is our bullepn of Smith, Tazawa, Uhera and Kimbrel.
  19. Moncada might be similar to Bogaerts, takes a while for him to figure the MLB stage. Benintenti seems to be taking the Betts progression, he won't need much time to assimilate. Personally, I feel Benintenti is better because of that trait.
  20. Pedroia average 148 games prior to 2015 for his previous 4 season. I'm not sure where all these talks he is injury prone comes from. In 2010 he had a broken foot following a foul ball, s*** happens. He had a hamstring in 2015. Otherwise he is consistently playing 140 games.
  21. Fangraphs recently posted the Red Sox top prospects, their ranking are quite different than BA or SP. 1. Andrew Benintendi, OF 2. Yoan Moncada, 2B 3. Anderson Espinoza, RHP 4. Rafael Devers, 3B 5. Brian Johnson, LHP 6. Michael Kopech, RHP 7. Mauricio Dubon, 2B/SS 8. Deven Marrero, SS 9. Michael Chavis, 3B 10. Luis Alexander Basabe, OF http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/evaluating-the-2016-prospects-boston-red-sox/
  22. Oh I hope he gets 138 days, because the players union will for everything it could to make it happen. BTW isn't K-Rod, Reyes, Puig all facing domestic abuse charges/allege? They could all be out the first few weeks if MLB finally laid the hammer.
  23. It's still selling extremely low to the point of giving him away. They should held onto him, by next summer if he performs, nobody will remember his off the field baggage.
  24. The average age of players the Reds got in return is 25, most of them don't appear to stick at this level more than a bench warmer at best.
  25. I applaud DD, he doesn't beat around the bushes. Kelly and Porcello were our best starters last 2nd half, if they are close to 3.5-4ERA starters, we're taking th e east
