  1. You replace your starting 2B with somebody who actually played there. Betts no longer play 2B. Castillo will start if Holt play 2B.
  2. So does Brock Holt. Which he will play if Pedroia comes down by lightning.
  3. Mookie is an OF. They're not changing his role for a temp job.
  4. The likelihood of Shaw getting a game in at 2B comes down to Dustin being struck by lightning.
  5. Pablo return to action, had more error than hit collected yesterday minor league game. Can they just leave him in Florida?
  6. I guess sub JBJ, Castillo plays CF those days.
  7. Castillo is going to be platoon.
  8. I don't like either of those option. Elias struggles this spring and is a lefty, a disadvantage facing a division with RHH sluggers. I don't believe they will go with him. Ramirez seems to get hit around with long ball as well. Smith couldn't return fast enough.
  9. Did Shaw ever play a game in LF? I heard Farrell wanted test it. But with the statue at 3B, Shaw has been more than filling out for the incumbent.
  10. From what Pablo did last season and this spring, he has been outplayed by Shaw. The 'injury' they invented is to buy him time for extended spring training. Noway I want the current Pablo anywhere close to the roster come opening day. Even a sub like Holt is better than Pablo.
  11. If there is one candidate to be expel from this rotation, I nominate Clay Butthead. Permanently. Let somebody hold down a rotation spot without smearing up the prep-H all the time.
  12. I want neither of those things. Kelly belongs in the rotation till prove otherwise. E-Rod would be wasting time in AAA, and he is the team's best starter at the end of 2015. An easy way to mange his innings is to take advantage of the break in July. Allow him anywhere from 7-10+ days if they maneuver it correctly.
  13. Is Buccholz even in camp? Radio silent on him.
  14. Yikes, clogging up the bases too.
  15. His fielding sucked last year, it's even worse now. I just cannot see how they could manage a key position and play a defender who is unfit for it. This kills a team quickly. His range, lack of it, is a big problem for a staff that consist of 3 groundball starters. It is important to convert groundball outs, double plays especially. Things get messy fast with defensive inefficiency for such pitchers. His throwing is another concern, he has made a ton of bad throws and with an inexperienced 1B, it's a double edged sword. So I find it very hard to have any patience for Pablo.
  16. Playing 'half games' to boot. He looks absolutely atrocious in games I've seen. Hanley is surprisingly holding his own. But with bad throws from Pablo, it might change.
  17. Another day, another throwing error by Pablo.
  18. You might be right, Castillo struggles vs RHP. His split is nearly .300OPS difference While in small sample, JBJ did a lot better vs LHP. I think Castillo could learn and turn into a slightly above average player. He just has to stop with his gaf, misreading a flyball, fielding a ball hit at him, forgetting how many outs are there, and base running mistakes. Being an average hitter is just fine, but not with those peripherals. They're correctable.
  19. As for E-Rod replacement, I think Wright gets the nod. Elias might be a reliever instead. Having a knuckleballer in relief is as they say pouring gasoline to fuel a fire.
  20. Castillo booted yet another ball last night, a single into a double. This will be his 3rd taste of major league tour, I f***ing hope he isn't caught off guard like he was the previous times. 29 and should be his peak years, not development and trial. There's zero excuses for it anymore.
  21. update: - Boston Globe
  22. -Boston Globe Let's hope he is only out 3 weeks vs 6.
  23. Seriously he needs some help. 1 more strike and he is kaput if he isn't already.
  24. fuuuuu At least this experiment is only 1 year.
  25. Against a college squad of nobody. I can't believe they even had paid patrons at the park.
