    I can't believe the people blaming Dice-k TOTALLY SUCKING on Francona. Dice-K just plain sucks. He sucked last year and he's going to suck again all this year.

Look my favorite team is and always will be 1975, Dewey, Fisk, The Golddust Twins, El Tiante... it was a beautiful thing but the Old Time Red Sox really were Jose Offerman, Denny Doyle, the Gerbil and good old Clell "Butch" Hobson. Those days are dead and we should all be greatful for it.

    I'm beginning to think the best thing that could happen to Red Sox Nation is a couple losing seasons. That way the entitled fans would find a new hobby when they realized they didn't really like baseball - just the winning. And some of the old-timers, that should know better, would remember the reality of how difficult it is to make the playoffs in the toughest division in baseball - year after year after year and everyone would appreciate a winning season (when it happened again) a great deal more.

    Oh knock it off. Beltre's not going to get 36 errors. His play will come back up to career standards. Can you even walk with the damage you're doing to your knees? And do you remember last SEASON or not? And I capitalized season because you're comparing one month to six and not seeing that the play over a season is more representative of a players true worth than one month.

    That is a good idea and will probably happen if Beltre continues to suck defensively... However, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Lowell at 3rd and not Youkilis. You don't want Varitek in the lineup THAT much... remember last year.

    Beltre is not going to play like this for the rest of the season. I'm just as pissed as everyone by his play for the month of April but he's a much better player than he's shown so far and will start playing up to true form. Martinez would be a defensive downgrade from Youkilis at first. Youkilis is a defensive downgrade from Beltre at third (with the way Beltre can and WILL play third) and that also means you have to put Varitek at catcher full-time.... I'm not prepared to watch Varitek hit below the Mendoza line for 5 months again. Your "option" stinks.

    Until he gets his head out of his ass. Beltre's going nowhere and will be the starting 3rd baseman (barring injury) for the remainder of the season.
